I thought the company had gone under. But sniffing around on the internet, seems they have several models, for sale in EU. Any friends here have one, ore experience with them?

Don't own one, but I just came back from Legnano Italy and saw a Morini dealer in a town close by with new bikes in the window.

I thought they were out of business (again), but I guess they're back in business (again) until they go bust (again). :grin: Prices are pretty high IMO - starting at 13500E and up to 19700E. :shocked:

I went to the site, thought...Hey, I'll buy a t-shirt or a polo......translate s to $35 for a t-shirt or $58 for a polo !!!!! :shocked:
I won't complain about those $20ish Guzzi shirts ever again. :grin:

Remember that EU car and motorcycle prices include their very high taxes as part of the price.

Moto Morini was bought at a fire-sale price by the Castiglioni brothers. At that time they owned Ducati also (bought at a fire sale price.) The brothers also bought, among other things the MV Augusta trademark. They produced their own CAGIVA motorcycles using Ducati motors, winning the Paris - Dakaar rally a couple of times with their Elefant models.
They sold the Ducati business after making that business profitable, but, after a little while, Ducati refused to sell them motors so they went on for some time using Suzuki motors.
I am not sure who exactly owns or runs MV Augusta now in its resurgence but it would not surprise me if it was still owned by the Castiglioni brothers and it would seem likely, having resurrected MV Augusta, that they might try to resurrect Moto Morini also.

The Castiglionis haven't owned Morini for quite some time. It's been through at least 3 or 4 owners since. Morini now is nothing like the Morini of old - sort of like Triumph and Indian, it's an "old" name on completely new bikes, built in a new factory, with none of the original staff.
From Wikipedia, not completely up to date I don't think:
Morini came under Cagiva control in 1987, then in 1996 came under Texas Pacific Group, which had also bought Ducati, and in April 1999, the rights to the name were purchased by Morini Franco Motori spa, a company founded by Morini's nephew in 1954. After building large v-twin motorcycles early in the 21st century the company went into liquidation in late 2010.
Moto Morini restarted the production of motorcycles in 2012.
