Hi All,
Even though I am here in Copenhagen, Denmark, I feel I have to reach out in every direction possible for my beloved SPIII.
Stolen in the last 24 hours between 19:00 and 15.00 CEST.
Frame number is DGM525550MVN11261
I am in shock :embarrassed: :embarrassed: Surely the idiot must not have known that there were less than 1000 of these produced worldwide :huh: And with that god awful red seat it stands out like a sore thumb :weiner:
As I write it is probably being disected for a cafe project :violent1:

My son-in-law is a student in Copenhagen, so I've alerted him to keep his eyes open.

Sometimes they are found abandoned where the joy ride ended. I hope this is the case with yours.

Someone needed a " ride " somewhere and just "borrow it to get "there"..then will leave the bike abandoned somewhere until local police will finally notice it and run the plate and call you....
Happen a lot with old cars ( because they are easy to start )
New bikes have immobilizer and all that crap , a guzzi can be started with a small screw driver.

As suggested I added the frame number
It has my uniques touch all over it so it will be easy to recognise even if it is transformed.

Nothing more disheartening than discovering someone has stolen from you . Good luck , and alerting WG was probably a good idea .

I know a man who has a small quarter sized device that sticks to almost anything and allows you to track the motorcycle (or whatever) if it is stolen. He has one on his cellphone. The adhesive is very secure. I think I will put one on my Guzzi. Sounds like a joyride to me. Here's hoping you get it back in one piece.

On our property we had 4 break-ins in last 5 years. I am so pissed when something like this happens... what I would do to that guy... :violent1:

She's back after being driven some 500+ km's. Found no more than 1km from my place.
Troubled youths being the perpetrators.
Tyres and battery okay and there was a switch hot wired in to replace ignition switch.
Neighbour who reported it met me there and said it was ridden every night. He is a rider himself and said it was a weird choice of bike, even for these miscreants, who are known for their delinquent ways.
Police refused to come and collect even though it was reported and obvious what was going on :Beating_A_Dead_Hors e_by_liviu The CBR beside it is also stolen and has exactly the same hot wire setup but it's a Swedish police problem. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

All Locks damaged and both side bags destroyed. Both rear indicators also trashed as a result of the bags being abused.
Not sure yet but neutral is hard to select, didn't have time to assess as I can't ride it more until police have cleared it, but I know clutch was disengaging correctly as I tested that when I rode it home :undecided: :undecided:

A buddy was riding his spII back from Sturgis a few years ago with his HD riding buddy. The Harley got stolen at the hotel, the guzzi was still there with the key in the in it.

Normally, having a Guzzi stolen is the least worry I have. <shrug> Who would want one unless they are a Guzzi Guy?

As Guzzistajohn said, you can normally leave them running and people won't even take a second glance at an older Guzzi.
Actually not really, I will just remove the ignition module, it is super easy to take with and as we know, no spark no bang :tongue:

I am also glad you got it back! Too bad about your side bags being destroyed and lack of police action.
Good luck getting her back to road-ready! Use this as a excuse to buy those bags you really wanted in the first place!

Your thief(s) were no doubt young and stupid. Real thief's treat Guzzi's like hot turds....as proved by John's example above. If John had taped a $100 bill to his gas tank, then it might have gotten stolen only until they got the bill pried off the gas tank!

I always put a Kryptonite MC lock thru my front forks/rim to be safe. Haven't had it stolen yet in 55 years. :grin:

Liquid nitrogen and a hammer was used on one of those locks at the NCO Club in Athens Greece. 1980. The owner went in long enough to cash a check. He was followed. GS 750.

Glad you got her back Adam. As a retired LEO let me express my disgust that your police would not assist, as here in America it is a felony to steal a vehicle, a serious crime. A letter to the head authorities would be appropriate to let them know that as a citizen, YOU PAY THEIR SALARIES AND EXPECT A LITTLE MORE RESPECT!!!!

I'm not saying what I do makes your bike theft proof, but it does make it harder.
Years ago @ the Laguna Seca MotoGP or World Superbke races a stunt rider's 1100 Suzuki blew up on Saturday. I was at the closest Motel 6 as was another fan with his 1100 Suzuki. His bike disappeard from the motel that same day and the next day the stunt rider performed his stunts at the rack again as planned. Coincidence?

My feelings exactly. If the Police won't you have too. I think I would find the owner of the Swedish bike first though. (then get him to help)
