I'll be trying this, thanks.  Of course you can mark your cross wrench with colored tape, spray paint, etc., so you know which socket is which.

 The video I got was a tutorial for thieves  :shocked: Nothing to do with locking or rusty nuts .

Another "home brew" I'm amazed at how well it works is my home brew penetrating fluid.  50/50 ATF and Acetone.

I recently used it on a 1980 Bosch Starter Solenoid fixing slotted screws and they came off easy peasy.    :laugh:

Don't ask me how long I've been using Ed's Red

There was a test posted here at one time. This was the most efficient of all that were tested at removing *rusty* fasteners. AeroKroil was next, and I think Blaster was third.

  Who'dathunkit?  I would never have believed candle wax would be a penetrant.
 I would have voted aerokroil.

Very cool indeed.
Handy to know a few different ways if you get caught short,
and that's a beauty.
My son had a stuck Sump Plug in his Saab 900 at one point
and getting frustrated. Told him to walk away, have a cuppa,
keep calm and let the prob sit in the back of his mind for a bit
to let an answer come through.
What he came up with was to apply some heat to the area,
and then to hold some ice cubes to the plug itself.
Worked well and he gained confidence in figuring things out.

We used to use beeswax as a penetrant, and it worked quite well.

"Gulfwax", available in the canning section at the grocery store, also works for this.

One old timer I used to know swore by oil of peppermint or wintergreen.
