What did I see today. Went out and voted early and stopped at the local co-op for a glass of hot cider. I was sitting there and a large (bagger?) was leaving the parking lot. I got a 10 second look at it before the light turned green and it left. It was 50 feet in front of me. At first I thought it was an MGX 21 but then I saw the heads it looked like it was a V4 with dual exhausts coming off the left side (drivers side). It was real quite. I am sure it was a 90 horizontal engine and after seeing the second exhaust and a large chrome valve cover I am pretty sure it was a V4.
What did I see.

Probably a Motus .

Except a Motus looks almost nothing like an MGX.

Neither do any of the other choices among V4 powered motorbikes . Of course , several years ago my sister asked me what Harley had 4 exhaust pipes , I said none , she insisted . Whaddaya know , a couple weeks later there it was next to me , an early 70's HD with an 1100 CC Honda V4 stuffed into the frame
Hmm , Motuses (Moti ?) have painted tappet covers , not chrome .

I think it was a new Motus. It had very large bags and it was solid black. The engine is the proof. This is what I saw in black with large bags. Remember it was 50 feet in front of me and I was sitting off at an angle when I first saw it. So I did not get a good look at it. But seeing this photo and think solid black with large bags and those chrome valve covers with dual exhaust and you have a Motus. The faring was large.
Because is was solid black, large bags and large fairing with a V 90 horizontal configuration is why I first thought MGX 21. But then I said no way. I had forgotten what a Motus engine looks like but that is what it was. Dusty wins the prize.

Is there a cash honorarium involved , or is the prize merely symbolic ?

My wife is a gourmet cook....really  Dinner here, whenever you want it.

The high end Motus MSTR is dressed in black carbon fiber with red valve covers. Just like the MGX.

Yeah well , Mr Motus' first name is Joe , Mr Honda's first name is Soichiro

What did you mean by horizontal configuration? That would indicate a Bum W.
What is horizontal in a V shaped MC engine?
-
I think he meant transverse.

My thought
-
If it was a horizontal engine with shiny valve covers it coulda been a Honda flat 4 or 6. He said it had a big fairing. :azn:
-
I think he meant transverse.
I did mean transverse. Brain fart.

Yep I did see an insignia on the gas tank/fairing like the one shown in the photo. Also it was a appeared to be a larger bike than the Motus and this Honda does appear larger and longer with bigger bags. Valve covers definitely shinny chrome.
Sorry Dusty I have to withdraw you as the winner. Dinner is still on though.

r-really? you'd treat Dusty? :food:
