Title: FI Reflash Question
Post by: Sheepdog on November 02, 2016, 09:02:41 AM
How critical is resetting the throttle position sensor after reflashing the ECU?

It may mean nothing, or everything.
Are you talking GuzziDiag reflash? Just hit the button and zero it.

And it depends on the bike, not only the model but the particular physical one.

My B11 for instance just happened to have a TPS that was mechanically in the ideal position, so when it was within spec after a reflash regardless or whether or not we used the scan tool to reset it.

But the next B11 might have been out of range without that.

Depends on the system. With your Calvin with the 15M-RC the TPS is still set manually from memory. The W5AM the value is interpretive and yes, it is sometimes altered by changes in the map.

If a different base map is used, with 5am ecu always a reset is needed, If only a change to the same map is made no reset needed.

If you have a 15rc with cali there is no reset in the ecu. The breva 750/v7 with 15rc does have a reset.

But you can always check tps value before mapping, and afterwards as a check.
