and being rescued by a harley, ugh. wonder what bike?

How is it bad press if the Boss rides a Guzzi? Probably something simple. With all the mention of cars and bikes in his songs, he admittedly has no mechanical skills.
I live close to that area.

Fuel hose probably popped off inside the tank..

theres no such thing as bad press, i guess i should have rephrased my subject line.

I'm thinking vintage Guzzi. My buddy is his photographer, http://www.dannyclinch.com and I asked him to find out what model. Says he has several bikes.

Maybe it's this one

A California Vintage with an Eldo tank......

The story never mentions Moto Guzzi , so how is it good or bad publicity ?

I kinda like the baseball cap under the helmet. Must keep the wind off the back of your neck.

Wonder if Billy Joel's guy Alex put that together for him? He was building just that when we were up at his shop a few years ago.

More like a spoiler to keep the bike stable at high speed.

Getting your name out there in the press is good...Any publicity is good publicity, especially for Moto Guzzi. Some businesses and celebrities are excellent at that.
-
Ha ha, you guys beat me to this. I just stumbled upon another article about it on FB and I was going to start a thread reading:
"3 Harley Riders Help Stranded Guzzi"
😅
http://www.app.com/story/news/local/new-jersey/2016/11/12/bikers-help-springsteen-stranded-side-road/93745436/
"Dan Barkalow, 55, of Freehold was on his motorcycle when he stopped to help another biker and found Bruce Springsteen with an inoperable Moto Guzzi cycle."
-
How many Harley's does it take to unscrew a Guzzi?

I imagine it depends on how screwed it was in the first place.

me, I am a rider, not a biker. But I'll ride with The Boss, even give him a jump. If he can't keep up, I'd buy him a beer later when he did catch up.
maybe he should ride out to Cedar Vale? (I wish him a better ride than that)
Dang youse guys was an hour and half ahead of me.....

Oh man , we could lure riders in from everywhere if we could get Springsteen to show up

Since it had that gas tank, the gas reserve for it is about 5 miles. Maybe he just ran out of gas. Assuming he knew it had a reserve.

That depends on how the fueling is set up for that tank on a Calvin. One thing for sure is that is an elongated loop tank custom made to fit that bike. MORE gas.
-
Careful, he might be lurking on here under an assumed name.
I'm sure he would be welcome, a man of such good taste.

being Guzzi riders, it's a shame that Ewan and Bruce haven't been to a rally or two.
I think those two more or less match up what we're all about, aside from the talent, rich and famous stuff, other than Rocker of course.

"It was born in It-al-ly...it was born in It-al-ly...."
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said "son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my VA man
He said "son, don't you understand..."
....and that reminds me to go check the status of my VA claim. Probably too soon. It's only been six months. :violent1:
Update: Yep, my claim is still in the discovery phase. They are now on step 5 (of 8) and now in the "Preparation for Decision" phase. Apparently, this means they are thinking about possibly making a decision...eventual ly. Six months for 5 phases. Maybe I'll hear something by late summer.
I actually really like the VA. The nurses and doctors that I've seen have all been outstanding care givers. I get my meds quickly and can usually get in to see a physician or physician assistant within a few days. Unfortunately, the administrative arm of the VA, which handles all the paperwork, is really, really slow and cumbersome.

Springsteen seems to be the real deal. Whether you agree with his politics or not, it's hard to deny that the man has conviction. I don't find him preachy or patronizing. To the contrary, he's quite humble. And yet, I saw some REALLY nasty posts (not here of course) about this little slice of a story. I'd be thrilled to sit down with the man and have a talk about what he's all about.
Oh, BTW, the man can still tear it up. Here's a great clip of him brutalizing that ash telecaster in 2009 at the Paramont. https://youtu.be/UA7v0zknMCo

They've helped me too!
I've had several break-downs over the last few years on my Moto Guzzi and BMW bikes and almost every time I've had a Harley rider stop to offer me help.
They have been very polite and didn't make denigrating jokes about my bike or misfortune. On two of such occasions the help was offered by long distance riders, one from California and the other from Oregon, both on Ultra Classics.
H-D's are everywhere and often "You meet the nicest people on a Harley."

My guess is that the Buddhists would say that if you have been put in the situation where you can help someone else- you are the lucky one. I've stopped to help folks and always feel good afterwards. Of course, I'm still looking for that 5'10" blonde on a Duc broken down and in distress.

My luck it would turn out to be one of the Nelson brothers
