I'll miss her. Truly amazing self-possession and good cheer as she fought her cancer. An example for us all.

Graceful, thoughtful, mature.  Condolences to her family and friends.

As a one-time journalist (I actually started in the field the same year she did), I always admired Gwen Ifill, even before she came to the NewsHour. I was worried when Robert MacNeil left PBS, and when Jim Leher announced he was stepping away I was ready to close the door. Gwen Ifill was what kept me watching the new PBS news program. While the other staff have always been skilled and professional, Ifill was able to bring both keen intelligence and personal warmth to the role - all without ever inserting herself or her own views into the story.

May she be a continuing inspiration to all who work in the profession.
