I've had this 77T3 since this summer and ridden it five thousand miles. Ever since I got it, the clutch has been grabby. It's gotten so it feathers ok when cold but when hot, forget it. I'm sure it's putting undue stresses on the whole driveline the way it lurches and jerks.
The records indicate the clutch was replaced around 2002, but not at what mileage. I doubt the bike had gone more than three thousand miles by the time I got it. At that time the 4mm hub was also installed.
I'm thinking this has to be a Sureflex - I've got the receipt from MG Cycle, but there's only the part number.
Anyway, it's looking like I need to replace the clutch plates and want to know the best way to go. Should I get the Guzzi plates, or will aftermarket work just as well? Where's a good source? Any help is appreciated!

could be the outer splines in the flywheel have worn not the friction plates inner splines.. how many total miles? if a lot they should have changed the FW at the time the clutch was re-newed.

I've had some problems with Sureflex clutches. I like the SDTech bonded and riveted clutches.

I just use the AP plates Guzzi used at the end of the twin plater's life. Avoid the Surflex for the reason shown in foto's pic but as he says it could be a dagged up flywheel too.

oops, thought I had the pic of the flywheel from same bike (V7Sport).. can't find it now.. FW was shagged like the friction plates shown..
