But would you want to ride it (save for a one-off bit of fun)?
-
meh.. still waiting for the AX..
-
exactly what sort of a masochist does it take to want to get involved with a company that has gone under so many time it's like a breaching whale?
-
I expected the price to be as out of reach as the Motus, but was surprised to see it's $14k.
-
"The Transformer Bike..." I am sure it is fast, handles well, brakes superbly...but it looks exactly like every other sport bike out there (IMHO). :undecided:
$14K is better than $35K+ for a MOTUS... Then again, there is the whole issue of dealers / warranty / parts / service / etc.

I hope it better looking than the sneak peek pic makes it out to be. The way the body work and muffler hang off just looks weird.
-
i just dont get it... why would anyone buy a bike from a company that goes tits up every 2-3 years?

Wait , for $14K you are expecting a dealer network , a warranty , any kind of service , parts ???
Come on JJ , let's be somewhat realistic here

Really...You know.at the end of the day...one may be far better off with a vintage or classic Guzzi...because the level of technical support / parts availability and overall customer service / commitment to the brand is pretty good here on the ol' wildguzzi forum! :thumb:  :1:

Absolutely. I'm pretty sure I can keep *my* Guzzis going indefinitely.. :thumb:

You can still buy new EBRs from the last EBR attempt.

He has made some awesome machinery, lets face it if I couldn't buy a Guzzi I would have a Buel in a heartbeat.
Its Different :bike-037:

Eric Buell has nothing to do with this current EBR company. He went bankrupt 2? years ago and this is now in the hands of a guy who bought his company @ auction.

Looks like a lot of left-over parts from the previous EBR machines that can be had now for very good prices on Cycletrader.

well, if you read the article it says:
“When you combine the upright seating with intense acceleration, you have the ultimate all around superbike. It has striking looks and performance for urban riders, and yet it is comfortable for a long day of riding or sport touring,” said Erik Buell.
Buell is also part of the website but I don't see that he's named as having a title.

Looks like they're hoping to expand the line, including something more affordable:

"It has been an amazing summer since the new EBR was launched. You can imagine the challenges restructuring the new company, but we have made really nice progress building our base for 2017 to launch this week", said Bill Melvin, owner of EBR. Our dealers have had nice success selling bikes this summer and we have many new ones coming on. Our quality is continuously improving, our supplier relationships established, and now we are looking towards the future.
This fall we have something "Quick, Dark, and Low" in the works that should be exciting for urban street riders, and we are making real progress on expanding the range of models of the 1190 platform, as well as developing and delivering accessories that our EBR riders want. "There is a bright future for EBR, and as part of that work is proceeding on a sub-$10k platform for 2018."

I'm waiting for a thumper, half the 1190, trimmed for weight and ready for off road.. with 30% more HP than the Dr/KLR type bike.. like take on the KTM 640 class.. belt drive, fuel in frame, perimeter brake.. ABS?

I'll take one of those with fuel in frame and under seat. I want more range than 4-5 gallons worth. Make it at least 7.5+ and I'm all in. :thumb:

All of the bankruptcies concern me .

perimeter brake on an offroad bike?? how's that an advantage?

it's not I guess but I'd be riding mostly street and dirt roads.. I don't need that brake but it worked well on my Uly.

I see Buell now has as many dealers(13) as Moto Guzzi in USA.
They have parts listed for 1190 bikes on the internet.

Apparently he is much better at building motorcycles than businesses. I don't think you'll find anyone more innovative, enthusiastic and just plain excited about building bikes, I hope he makes it this time 'round.
-
And, it is ugly. Always a selling point in todays market. Besides, it only has 110 more horsepower than any other bike I have owned.
That alone is reason enough to not buy one.
