Title: V50 Monza on New York Craigslist $2,000
Post by: jas67 on November 18, 2016, 06:25:00 AM
It looks pretty crusty, but, it looks like it's all there.   The price is high, IMHO.   But, then again, I'm no expert on what these are worth.

This is bike is a 79-84 (not 100% sure but it's most likely an 82-84) Moto guzzi v50 monza. It was pulled from a back yard from under a tarp but it's in pretty good most certainly rebuildable condition. The motor turns freely and all gears can be found in the transmission. Tank is in very good shape and doesn't appear to be too rusty on the inside. Speedo shows only 25,000 km. No title but was abandoned over 25 years ago so with a little finagling (and maybe some help from a title service) it shouldn't pose any problems. This bike would make an AWSOME cafe race project!

That Monza would will be a labor of love to restore!
It's missing some very difficult to source parts. Not to mention the missing title which makes it over-priced to me.

I hadn't even read it closely enough to see that it doesn't have a title.   I thought it was overpriced before knowing that.

It's been butchered, many good parts missing. The tank has some value..

IF you can do the work yourself
IF you want a year-long project
IF you'd prefer a cafe or resto-mod over a restoration
and
IF the missing title doesnt scare you off

it's worth $800 maybe

Here's a clean one in Colorado. Again, the price is too high.

The price must not have been too high, it appears to have sold (deleted by author).
