Snow is forecast and it was a mostly sunny in the low 40s so it seemed a perfect time to put some miles on the V65 Monza. Got in about 80 miles and stopped at Birch Bay for a photo. A bit chilly, but a great ride. Burned through the first tank with the 650 engine and it returned 47 mpg despite all the "acceleration testing"

Edit: added photos taken when stopped for a mixed freight including Bakken crude and a B-unit.

Good deal :thumb: Seems to be a lot of last rides going on around here. Damn northern hemisphere.

Glad you were able to get a test ride on it today and not have to wait until spring.
I had good sunny weather here,, , it would have been a nice chilly ride, but I had too many outside chores to do, before we get a snowstorm tomorrow as well.
Your bike looks very nice,,, not to brag,,, but from a distance,, with some of the matching pieces,,, looks very similar to my CX100,,, very close to twins, lol.
Curious how the new engine felt.

Thanks Guys.
Kelly, the CX100s are good looking bikes, so sometimes think about swapping my LeMans III for a CX. The early '80s Guzzis really appeal to me - I must've been of an impressionable age when the Monza and LM/CX were new. The Monza looks even more like the LMIII, which I really like except that the fairing looks like a storm trooper helmet with too big a chin.
The engine runs great with lots of mid-range torque good acceleration. I'm very happy with it. And Chuck in Indiana was right about the mileage - close to 50 mpg. There's a long winded ride report here (reply #36): http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=87045.30

We are due for some snow tomorrow, but the temps will be above freezing, so I think I will ride anyway. (I like seeing the snowflake on my Norge's dash when the temperature drops to 37 degrees or so.)
