Thanks Jay for introducing me to this rather unique (like most Guzzi guys) rider.
Blaine Paulus, Jr, former Guzzi dealer and racer, hasn't missed a single day of riding in over 16 YEARS.
That might not sound like much to someone living in So Cal (and even there it should mean something), but living in rural PA and having to deal with snow, ice, blizzards, well, you gotta be a little obsessive.
His story:

Ride safe (AND WARM all).

Thats a nice read. I thought I was hard core up here in Spokane,WA. for riding as much as I do.
But i get no where near this guy.

Nicely written! Thanks for sharing.

One of the best days I had this year was meeting Blaine and Missy (along with my "usual" riding buddies Leo and Carl) for breakfast at the Apple Bin in Biglersville, PA and then riding over to Kings Gap State Park.
A few years ago Blaine and I rode the "South Mtn. 130" dual-sport - Blaine on a DR200 and I on my XT500. That was another memorable day.
I look forward to riding with him again at some point in 2017.

Ha ha, he must like that place, that's where we stopped for lunch a few weeks back when I rode out to get his story.
If the story wasn't enough the Crab Bisque and hot apple cider was worth the 3 hours of 40F riding to get there lol.

Attaboy Kev :thumb: I remember Blaine from his racing days .

We stopped briefly at the Kings Gap General Store (long enough for two of our group to make phone calls), but we didn't go in. I plan to do that another time. The State Park/Environmental Education Center was our goal for that day. Interesting place - the garden should be beautiful in the Spring.

Someday I gotta meet this guy. I hear he doesn't live to far from me.

I could have sworn you were on an email list he sent out this morning...

Blaine picks up broken down Guzzi riders and drops them off at Lance's.

That is truly remarkable. Another great read Kev!

Glad you enjoyed guys.
I'm currently kicking around a story idea that might be near and dear to a few of you. Something about Less is More and why we see people switching to smaller and lighter bikes (including for touring). I'm going to want some photos and testimonials if anyone wants to participate.
Cam? Can you get your face in print these days?
Anyone else interested?

Alright I checked, that's gotta be you, clearly I'm not in on the joke.

Cool story!

:1: But now I feel like a dolt for not taking the bike to the last day of work for the year :violent1: Now the question will always be: what would Blaine do?

That sounds like a great topic as I recently sold my FLHTC and bought an 07 Calvin which I really like. I would live to here some of the guys talk about ridding around the country on these 450- 550 pound bikes! Let's get it going Kev!!!

Working on it.
But I'll need some people to step forward with their stories....
