Be careful you don't eat so much you need to buy tickets for two seats on the airplane 😁😁😁!

Might be a concern in a Bavarian or an Irish restaurant, but you probably couldn't eat enough Japanese food to need two seats!
You can eat until you're stuffed and laying back panting and you still won't have had 1200 calories ....

No worries...since I have been gone (1/9), between running around HUGE international airports, train terminals, sight-seeing, etc. I have walked a total of 16.9 miles in 7 days - - average 2.4 miles per day.
Secondly, one will NEVER get fat eating sushi or shashimi and vegetables.

Yakitori - which is one of my personal favorites!! :thumb:
Basically, grilled chicken hearts, livers, stomach, neck, butts, etc. (whatever parts you can imagine...) with vegetables, of course, on a cold night....HOT sake (rice wine)

Chickens have butts ??? Reminds me of the commercial where two guys are holding a live chicken and trying to determine where the nuggets are located

Brings back memories. I lived in Japan for six years. It really is a great place.

Good memories for me also. I was stationed in Iwakuni for two years back in mid 80s. Had the time of my life.

One or two visits to the Hawaiian style cafe in Waimea on the Big Island can do that to you.
I used to go there for breakfast and not need to eat anything the rest of the day.
I had to quit going there when I went on the weight loss program.

The real problem isn't eating so much that you need two seats - it's eating so much that your bill is the same as two seats on the flight home!

More Japan - - My friend Sugimoto-san's little Honda micro-car (660cc turbo / atuo), typical business hotel room / bathroom, image of the famous Mt. Fuji (just above the red van...) :thumb:

I like the last picture of the highway signs. Upon my return to the states in late 87, it took me almost a year to get comfortable driving on the right side of the road again.

Glad to see that the bathroom looks familiar. Sometimes I see things like a hole in the floor with footprints painted on each side, or bowls with sprayers that I don't even know what I'm supposed to spray.
You hear about places to stay at night where you slide up into a cubbyhole 3' x 3' x 7' and sleep there, use the communal bathroom, etc ...
Thank goodness someone has us gaijin in mind ....

Yes, also known at "The Squat Toilet" (LOL)     I have been forced to use one, only out of desperation. Most of Japan is modern these days, but all the modern toilets now have spray nozzles for both men and woman (Bidet setting). They work quite well...
Note the short, deep tub for baths. They are great! The water pressure is also very precise (typical Japanese) for showers.

All I can say is that the poor cleaning lady would be damn disappointed and upset when she got to MY room after I was gone ....
