Strong, resilient, sexy, smart, emotionally aware.  She was something else!  Fantastic - unbelievable that she was 80 - my mental image of her will always be from the Dick Van Dyke Show and MTM Show.  Who can turn the world on with her smile...

Very real. My (ex)wife was among those graduating and it really put a damper on what should have been a happy day for her. 

Shepherd University mourns the loss of actress and philanthropist Mary Tyler Moore. In 1995, Moore donated her great, great, great grandfather's home—the Conrad Shindler House—to the Shepherd University Foundation to serve as the home of the Civil War Center. In May 1996, Moore delivered Shepherd's commencement address and presented a key to the house at a ceremony renaming the Center the George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War, in honor of her father.

I heard an interview on PBS yesterday...Terry Gross interviewing MTM in 2007 at 70 years old...her voice sounded wonderfully the same as I remembered...as I listened...I thought this is such a familiar voice and I love it...I had forgotten.
