Does GuzziDiag, with LonElec cabling (as per the 1200 4v, 8v, and earlier), work with the FI computer in the Cal 1400's?

There is limited access to the 7SM. I believe that there is a version that will allow you to perform the self learning functions which is what is most important but so far there is no mapping accessability.
Paul will be able to give a better overview.

the reading/writing maps is not there, we still need logging from someone with a cali 1400 and the Piaggio equipment during writing.
Throttle handle learning works, read/reset errors. and see all values.

A SERVICE warning just popped up on the dash. Should guzzidiag be able to interpret and clear codes? I blew a headlight fuse at the same time, though i haven't figured out why yet. Would that throw a code on the 7sm ECU?

Well I guess this is sort of related, my 2 cents... I just had my Cal 1400 touring serviced at my dealer along with a factory map up grade, wow what a difference in that bike compared to the old map. Just sayin" :-)

These are the diagnostic codes in my Cal 1400 as read by GuzziDiag. Both were Stored Codes, as after 2 or 3 engine restarts, the SERVICE indicator on the dash had magically disappeared. (It did the vanishing SERVICE indicator once before, maybe 400 miles ago)

Hmmm. Thanks Dave. Well, that stop light error might explain why a fuse blew in the #1 position for the lights. I'll have to test the brake lights now that I've tested the headlights and fog lights. (The fuse did not fail again with headlights and fog lights on and handlebars moved full lock to full lock.)
There's no actual relay for the stop lamp, is there? Just vulnerable wiring near the steering head and under the rear fender, correct?
Wiring diagram shows a "logic relay" ( #19) that seems to connect to the tail lights and turn signals. Maybe due to the canbus monitoring system(??)

Have a look at the small wiring sub-loom under the rear mudguard, (Fender.), it has been known to rub through its insulation if not cabletied carefully out of the way.

Thanks Pete. I noticed the wiring in har's way a couple weeks ago and though I had tucked it up safely, but will check it again, as well as each brake switch.

#19 is described as a "Recovery Logic Relay", I have no idea what that means.
But yes, it is the relay for the stop lights, it is controlled by the ECU. Perhaps the ECU cannot supply sufficient current for the stop lights, especially where some models don't use the LED version.

I checked the visible wiring under under the fender. No injury, everything tucked where I left it and it appears secure. I then tested stop lamp using both hand and foot pedal, with and without all headlights and running lights. No fuse failure. Maybe I had a defective fuse? Or maybe something hinky is going on with the relay itself that's intermittent? If it craps out again, I'll try replacing the relay. I also have a 3 watt red LED I could put in the tail that replaces an 1157 bulb and is VERY bright while drawing much less current. But, I don't know if the canbus will pick it up as an error. I guess trying it will prove it one way of the other. I know the turn signals are monitored by the canbus. Don't know if the low current draw of an LED will throw an error or not.

There will be no issue replacing the incandescent bulb with an LED. One of my Cali 1400 bikes has an illuminated registration plate surround which employs LEDs.
