Nice. A lot to like about the Frontiers. They're considered a bit old in design comparatively to the market, which probably means a perfect fit to us Guzzisti.

Kinda like why I bought my Wrangler.

I've noticed that also. My 2013 F150 is bigger than my old 1988 F250 and has more towing capacity.

Nice purchase, I hope it serves you well.

Getting bigger unnecessarily in my mind, my guess it has something to do with man part sizes.  Why in the world do all these truck makers feel it necessary to lift the bodies so far above the frame? It does nothing for ground clearance.  The axels determine ground clearance along with tire height.  A foot of air above the tires to the body panels just looks silly.  You used to be able to stand along side a truck bed and grab your gear, now they build in step systems to get in there.

I've owned 3, an '87 Ranger, a '94 Isuzu, and an '04 Silverado, all 2wd.  Of the 3, the bare naked (not even a radio) 2wd ext. cab Isuzu was my favorite.  2.6l 4-cyl. w/5-speed manual, and it punched way above its weight.  Owned it from new for 9 years and 125000 miles.  Helluva little truck.

Boy I wish Isuzu small trucks could come back to America again.

Steve.

My first PU was an early 80s Isuzu. Served me well until a drunk soccer mom took it out with her conversion van when it was parked in front of my house.

... and Datsuns. We had a little red Datsun when I was a kid... I guess the Frontier traces it's lineage back to those. It seems to me that here would be a market for what were once called mini-trucks - but I imagine the car industry knows better.

I rented a Frontier last year on business travel and was super-impressed by it. Enjoy.

I have 2005 Nismo  4x4. Love the power.  I bought it at 100k miles, from a dealer. It had a new dealer installed crate motor and reman transmission, and they came with additional warranty. The reason it had a new power train was, the original owner ignored a check engine light. The 2005-2010 Frontiers and Xterra, etc with the V6 are known for a defect in the radiator, an internal leak that mixes coolant with trans fluid.  IF your Frontier starts shifting poorly, ask the dealer to look asap.  I love mine, would probably buy another, but I keep my eyes on the fluids.  http://www.nissanproblems.com/trends/coolant-leaks-destroy-transmission/

Nice truck. I recently purchased an 89 Mitsubishi Mighty Max for around town stuff and commuting 5mi to work in the winter. I wish we could still purchase new mini-trucks. Even the small trucks are quite large compared to the little buggers in the 70s and 80s.

My first "truck" was a '53 Chevy Suburban (although I don't think they were calling them Suburbans then). Kinda wish I still had it.
1990 bought a new Nissan 4x4 - great truck. Then I need more towing capacity so bought a new 1990 Silverado 4x4. Traded that for a new 2013 Silverado 4x4. The wife thought the seats were uncomfortable - worse than the '99. A friend offered me a good deal so I traded the Silverado for a new Subaru for the wife and bought the friend's 1987 Tacoma 4x4 V6 manual with 88,000 miles on it. I love it. It's small, but big enough. It's my "daily driver" when I need a cage.

My trucks about 15 years ago, all licensed....Since then I have sold the trucks and moved .....My daily driver trucks since the 70's have been a variety of beat up Chevy trucks...In fact I never owned any truck but a Chevy...
