I haven't ridden the Ozarks in a over a year. I am heading to the RAT Raid at The Hub on weekend of 27 April. The place will be likely be sold out largely with Triumph, Duc and perhaps some Guzzi guys.
It's in the best riding country anywhere and located between Harrison and Jasper Ark.

I great place for riding and riders to meet up.

Good grief, what is this place? Club Med for Motorcycles?? Should I bring my golf clubs and tennis racket?
-
Hardly a "resort" except for riders and bikers. It's an old motel in the hills that was rehabbed for motorcycle weekends. It's a legacy from an abandoned amusement park and the pool has been filled in for a fire pit. But there is still a banquet room and cafe there.
It's great place to ride and BS with fellow riders. There's a fancy hotel in Harrison and spill over motels and restaurants there. Jasper has a nice little cafe and a few rooms for kayakers and riders too.
I won't oversell the Hub for what it is.

Well, as long as there is a mint on my pillow...in my tent...

Probably get some candy form a vending machine. Maybe Rudy will give you a slug of his 'shine unless he's on a cruise with his wife?
The office does a booze run once a day. Give them your order. Tents are $10 a night.

I've been to the HUB several times. It don't get no better than that. You can get a room or you can camp. They keep a room open for campers to shower or just freshen up. The restaurant has good food. And there must be a thousand miles of really good roads to ride.
-
There's also a motorcycle friendly campground about 7 miles north of the HUB. Called Shady Oaks. I've camped there a couple of times and recommend it.

Russellville to Harrison may be the best stretch of riding in the US (or elsewhere) !!!

One of the Wife and my favorite runs is from Branson, riding through Harrison and Russellville, to Hot Springs, taking 7 down. Of course, Eureka Springs South to Hot Springs is good, also. WTH, it's like so many excellent choices in the Ozarks, pick a route and you can't go wrong!

especially taking a route through Mt Judah....but 7 is pretty nice ride all the way. No bad roads on that route. (BTW, the Hub is on Rt 7 between Harrison & Jasper)
We always have lunch at a diner just south of I40. I hear there's other good eats in Russellville.

FWIW, here is the official reply from The Hub regarding my enquiry about tent space for the weekend in question...
'No; we have plenty of camping space.
Thanks!
Debbie'

yes, plenty of camping space.
I think there is comparable cable reception for campers too.

Jasper Arkansas. The Hub. See link

If the Hub is booked full check out the Hotel Seville in Harrison. Biker friendly, bar and covered bike garage.
-
just got the Greenie out of the shop. Am ready to make the RAT Raid and perhaps some rallies after that.
I wonder if anyone here heading to Arkansas next week whether to the Hub or in the general area? If so, give me a holler and we'll meet up, ride, have a cold one or something.
-
I think this rally might be jinxed.
It seems to turn cold and rain every time. Now I am undecided about riding there and attending.

What Andy sez. It's a *really* kool restored old hotel. Marble, wood, the real deal. Not expensive, either..
When we were at the Hub, it was infested with Harleys.

I live in Northwest Arkansas and thought about riding over to the RAT Raid with the Guzzi. However, we are getting dumped on with rain and cooler temps. Probably want make it this year.

Oh shoot, I guess I'll have to miss another RAT rally. It always rains for this event. I'll just have to make the 40 mile trip to the Arkansas line some other weekend RATS!
