The oil pump was an issue with early production units; some say they were mostly red ones, but check the VIN / production date against the threads here that list that problem.
2007 units had a rear spring/shock that was adequate for one-up but that would not be well-suited to two-up or very sporting riding. Fork upgrades often are desirable as well, with progressive springs and/or cartridge emulators being popular. My 2008 has HyperPro progressive fork springs and a HyperPro shock/spring set on the rear - much improved. Other good choices are available.
There's a thread somewhere that details differences with Norge models over the years, that I put an extended list into.
At that price, I'd get it if all else is good, and plan on spending a bit on suspension and a few other mods. Total cost even with upgrades would still be cheap. Tires likely need replacing just because of age; the Michelin PR4 GT (extended wear) is my favorite. I also notice that the sewrvice indicator shows on the dash, so it's quite possible the 6000 mile (10,000 km) service has not been done.
Then just keep it, ride it, and try to catch up to my miles!

That's as inexpensive as they get! It has no tappet issues since it's the older 2v engine. I don't know the bike so it might be a piece of garbage .... however, it looks ok in the pics. Is it worth a call? Don't know. I'll say up front that I am not in the market for another CARC bike, since I already have one that has been a super machine for the last 7+ years. But, if this seller's ad is legitimate, I cannot imagine someone on this site looking for a bike not jumping on this bike. I was disappointed when I advertised my 2008 1200 Sport for sale at approx. $3900.00 and didn't get one bite off this web forum. What the hell are you guys waiting for? ................ someone to pay you to buy their bike? I don't get it, to be honest.
Do CARC bikes scare WG forum members off, because of dashboard issues or other ....?
Sorry for being obnoxious ..... I'm just asking.

I'm glad you asked, because I was sort of wondering, but didn't want to be obnoxious (!) .
A good deal if real.

Why? WHY??
Where was this bike when I was looking at the last two bikes I didn't need?
-
And, you're not that far from Hamlin Cycles in CT.
Jim's a good as they come for Guzzis.
-
Damn, that is cheap enough to buy remotely and have shipped cross country and still come out on top. Kind of wish I was in the market for one.

Me? YES!

Me? YES!
Both saddlebags have some rash on them. I can't see a lot of other damage though so it might be just the bags coming off. Seems like a reasonable deal to me, although I was happier with the deal I got on my '07!
Cheers,
Shaun

Well, a lot of us who like the CARC bikes already own one - and since they generally keep going, there's not the push to buy another. As for those who have other Guzzis. well, their loss

What was that thread where a bloke was looking for a bike to tour on? Just buy the bugger !

Yep. You almost couldn't go wrong. At that price it doesn't have to run 200,000 trouble-free miles to pay itself back ....

Hi,
TGTBT?
Lot of scammers out there.
Worth a call, but if the bike is in one location and the selling in another walk away.
Good luck.

No matter - the posting is gone. As always (and as you point out) there is due diligence required on any such posting. I think the OP just wnated to know whether the opportunity was worth the effort to even investigate.

YES. That's why I sold my B11 after replacing the dash TWICE.

This is what I would call an "obvious " Scam listing.
A ducati 916 for $1000 bucks. Listed on several CL sites, and with sketchy details, and just one photo.

Jeez, I'd reckon potential buyers would be lining up to get a 916 Ducati with automatic transmission. Jeepers, you don't have to "worry" about changing gears !!!
