You guys are nuts.
It's a "Custom", therefore worth much more than the asking price, unless of course if he does indeed take the bags off.

Now, you have to admit.. that ol Indiana boy has some talent to bodge that. Can't tell from the poor quality picture, but it might not be done too badly. Of course.. it might. It would be interesting to see a little closer, but I'm not about to do that.

I saw that on my local cl a few days ago, glad you posted it. We should start a "bikes with identity confusion" section :boozing:

MY EYES!!!! Make it stop...

What? WHERE are the obligatory posts about how we shouldn't judge other people's ideas of aesthetics, that a custom such as this is an intensely personal statement and reflects the unique perspective of the inner person, and the (always required) "I can really appreciate the craftsmanship and metal work that went into that"?
Chuck tried, being the positive and civil guy that he is, but even he gagged before he could even get to the "damning with faint praise" part ....
Where's the open diversity tolerance gone to 'round here, boys .... ?

Some folks just see things differently , more than once I've heard someone talk about how ugly MG's are , viva la difference . Heck , I find lots of stuff beautiful that others think truly ugly , and the opposite is also true .

I've got an early ambo, and that front end leaves a lot to be desired. I'm surprised that was laying around to slap on that wreck.

Incredibly practical , and to some that practicality is perfection . The opposite is also true for some , we see it on display here frequently .

If you decide to build a custom bike, and it starts out with "Hey Billy Bob, I got a mess of mismatched parts from bikes layin' around, let's see what we can build". This IS one heck of a bike!
Just not my kind of custom. I wonder how much he wants for the tank and front end?? Just sayin'

Thet there's a bonafide morphodite murdercycle. :thumb: :copcar:

Nothing wrong with making "ends" meet.
Just needs a bit of polish.

Looks alright to me. What's the big deal ?

Probably down the same crack pipe the bloke was smoking when he thought that was a good idea Lannis.
Look, to actually build something like that does take *Something* as long as it works. My fear is that it wouldn't. As Chuck says you need to have a closer look but from here it gets an 'F' for fail.

Yeah BUT - some people have a pile of parts and come up
with something like that .......... And some come up with
something like this.

I'd be a little surprised if you could pick the parts on this beastie,
but it works like it was meant to be and has shown it's tail to some
Norton Manxs.😉
Which do you like better?

I agree. Actually, my post was just a fishing expedition and I caught a big one in the very next post.
Everyone's just having fun with this one. On the other hand, though ....
... what if this is a bike that is ridden every day, I mean really ridden like we think of a bike being ridden?
One of the bike/rider combinations I respect(ed) the most (he's gone now) was Rusty Schultz and his BSA "custom".
This were it:
(https://photos.smugmug.com/General/i-xcgHBcd/0/X3/Image024-X3.jpg) (https://lannisselz.smugmug.com/General/i-xcgHBcd/A)
(https://photos.smugmug.com/General/i-xtTQRDH/0/X3/Image021-X3.jpg) (https://lannisselz.smugmug.com/General/i-xtTQRDH/A)

Rusty didn't want pictures taken of him, he was the guy who would ride into the rally, camp at the far end, bring peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches to eat, and just enjoy being around where other riders were, even if he didn't ever start a conversation.
This is a BSA motor, tank, and oil-frame, but nothing else is BSA. If you didn't know better, you might say "What an abomination!" or "Has someone already pulled the pin on that grenade?" I can tell you, though, that he used to burn up the interstates and the blue highways of the East Coast, putting more miles on this bike than most of us put on our Guzzis.
He died in his 40s unexpectedly, but he was a testimony to "Things are Not Always As They Seem"!

So Lannis , you're admitting to posting some deliberate political "bait" ? You know , about how diversity is bad and all ? Just curious .

You got me. Posting about people's opinions of motorcycle esthetics, yep, that's a bad one all right. The mongrel Guzzi looks bad; Rusty's old BSA looks good despite being in the same category because he RIDES it.
If that's reason enough for me to back up against the adobe, jefe, I'm ready, just let me have a last cigarette ....

I want one, wonder if he kept notes and has pictures?
:-)

I only have one question, how is it titled???????????

I like the BSA mash up, I don't know why, but I do.

I have a long time Guzzi friend Dennis Venema who has a cabin near Redding, Ca. that has an old Eldo kept running out of donor old Eldos. He makes most the Guzzi Nationals and some other Guzzi rallies out West. His Eldo looks pretty well worn but it keeps on ticking how many miles, I don't know. At 1 National in `99 @ Elkader, Iowa someone said he would win the Rat bike contest. After hearing that he left early. :embarassed: 1 time @ the Arizona State Guzzi Rally he showed up on it with a home made sidecar. Every few years I run into Dennis @ a Guzzi Rally.

Probably because you can see right through it ... I always like bikes that you can see through ....
