Title: "Diff" Vent On My Breva

No, nothing wrong. :thumb:

Just reporting that some time back someone reported oil leaking up the shaft, and in the replies someone mentioned that the vent may be blocked.

Because the castings had always been clean, I wondered if mine was blocked. Removed it, soaked it in degreaser, blew it out, sacrificed a rubber chicken and replaced it.

I now find I have a slight oil mist that settles around the vent over a period of time, which tells me that mine was blocked. Although I had never seen any trace of oil whenever I was greasing splines, changing tires etc, I suspect it would only have been a matter of time. Kudos to whoever suggested it. :thumb: :bow:

Yeah just noticed for the first time, as I was pumping the 500 ml of lovely Motul 80/90 into the drive, I could hear the air escaping from the vent. BTW, when you sacrificed the chicken, did you eat it or did you...Ummm, well..you know. :rolleyes:
