Title: California white walls
Post by: Crash on March 06, 2017, 10:42:43 AM
Hi all -- I have a 2007 California Vintage that needs new rubber, and agree with everyone telling me that the bike would rock with white walls. Problem is i can't find any manufacturer that sells 110/90 VB 18 and 140/70 VB17 in a white wall. Has anyone had any luck finding a different size that is available in a white wall that would work in these rims?

Since the advent of raised lettering, whitewalls have fallen into disfavor.  More's the pity.  But, there are other options.  Whitewall "inserts" are panels that stick to the sides of tires.  Whitewall paint is a rubber-based paint that does the same thing.  Both are available on ebay or your favorite JC whitney-type catalog.

I also have a 07 Calvin and have found it's hard enough to find affordable black walls in these sizes let alone the wide white walls, I do agree they would look good on our bikes
