Title: Spring seat on Jackal?
Post by: turpentyne on April 07, 2017, 12:32:32 PM
Hi...First time posting. I'm in the "which one" process of weighing options on bike purchase.

Forgive me if this is a silly question. I've seen various comments about how uncomfortable the stock seat can be on a 2000s Jackal. As a passing thought, I was wondering if a nice cushy spring seat on these would maybe be more comfortable - assuming it's even feasible?

...what I really want is an old Ambassador or Eldorado... but we'll see. Price is a factor! :)

A clever guy could adapt another saddle like a HD police solo might work. Jackal seat can be reworked and made "more" comfortable by a good upholsterer.

Interestingly , I've considered a spring seat for my Jackal . Not so much for comfort , just for the retro look .

I think all the Guzzi seats are uncomfortable! Cali. Special Sport, redone. Cali. EV, redone. Cali Vintage, redone. Ambassador, sheep skin. V 50 with a Sargent seat on it, needs to be redone. I don't think Guzzi can make a comfortable seat. But the flat, firm seat on my BMW R80, 39 years old is stock, and the seat on my r65, 38 years old is stock. Flat seats with firm padding. The fricken Italians, of which I'm one, managed to straighten out their electrics...somewha t, now they need to fix their seats.
