Title: FS 2008 1200 sport
Post by: twodogs on April 11, 2017, 09:33:23 AM
Well I went in for shoulder surgery Mon. at 5:30 a.m. and left at 11:00 a.m. They repaired the tear on the cuff and ground off the bone spurs away from the bursa sac? I'm a hurting dog right now and the meds make me ill but if this works it will be worth every bit of it. The 1200 is still for sell if anybody is interested :bike-037: you all take care.

Had both of mine done over the past 7 years.  Tough and long recovery.  Best of luck on the shoulder and sale.

Yo, Twodogs ...... here's wishes for a speedy recovery.

I'm not in the market for another 1200 Sport, but I can honestly say it has been one of the best bikes I've owned.  Mileage is just a few hundred under 65,000 miles.  With some mods to the saddle, adjustable footpegs, and Mana handlebars, HB Juniors, etc, she's a beast of a mile eater, and doesn't care whether those miles are Interstate or US 191 or similar out West.  I'll even forgive her for the failed dashboard, since that's been the only major failure.

Do you have your 1200S listed in the classifieds or other sites?

Bob

FWIW - big mistake I made when I did my first shoulder (Right) was to not let my arm "hang and rotate......very easy....you PT person will tell you and I would encourage based on my experience to do it".  I ended up with a frozen should (too much scar tissue) so they needed to go back to cut that after 8 months.  Was able to hop on a bike after ~3 months as I recall but no tennis for 10 months.

Thanks Bob, I just put it on here so far, I can't seem to bring myself to list it anywhere else yet
Thanks again ponti, I needed the reminder, I broke this shoulder over 20 years ago and remember how hard that simple exercise was to do, I started moving it yesterday when I cleaned it up and it was already tight, our cat jumped up on me last night to see how I was doing, she's ok to

Get well soon Bruce, and here's to a speedy recovery. :thumb:

I don't have the extra lettuce now, but back in 2007, I came very close to buying a NEW 1200 Breva Sport.  It fit me like a glove, and I regret not pulling the trigger.  Here is a photo of me in San Mateo, CA trying one out at the IMS show.

Best wishes on your recovery from your surgery.     I'm right there with you, currently recovering from lumbar fusion surgery that was done on March 21.     My surgeon says that I might be able to return to riding 90 days post op.     The great weather this week has been TORTURE, not being able to ride!

Do all the prescribed PT, and heal well!
