Title: Adjusting the swing arm on 1998 EV
Post by: rtbain on April 13, 2017, 02:31:37 PM
I removed the swing arm on the 1998 EV 11.  After careful reading of the service manual found no reference about tightening the swing arm on installation.

They are tapered roller bearings.  Just snug them up until all play is removed?

Yeah. Pretend they are steering head bearings. Measure the threads that stick out on both sides to be the same.

Chuck is exactly right. It is that simple. Just count the threads if you don't have a caliper to measure depth.
