I would like to drive one straight into a brick wall at about 80 MPH. Then get out and say : "Good car, not a great car , but a good car."

That's funny I never understood the fascination of running around in a circle, I know it takes skill to drive close to another car at 200
But its nothing like a Road course.
When i tell people here, I like Auto Racing. They right away, say I like NASCAR too.
Then I say I like F1 or Rally racing and its the Deer in the Headlight.
Any way great Video.  Not babying that thing is he

LOL...I know what you mean...they're already suspicious when I answer "How 'bout them [insert sports team here]??" with "I don't really follow sports except for MotoGP, the WeatherTec Series, WEC, and WRC..." and then they mumble something and move away...

I can't believe the amount of steering input that doesn't seem to having any effect.  Seems pretty loose and sloppy.  Typical for cars of that period?

It looked like there were two GTO's in that race!?

Steering input?  Yep, big skinny tires.

I'd have to drive it like I stole it, on account of that's the only way I'd b able to get behind the wheel of one.   :copcar:  :bike-037:

I don't care how rare or cool the car is, fighting that steering like he was does not get listed under "fun".

I think the steering input isn't slop in the front end but controlling the slide at the rear end. Watch especially the way the rear of the Ginetta moves around in the curves. These guys are steering with the throttle.

Guys,
I live in the Washington/ Wilmington/Philadelphila to New York corridor. I can perch on any overpass and see this kind of action any Friday night and Sunday afternoon. As for 40 million dollar cars...none, buy I did see a 20 million dollar pile up once.
By the way , I didn't close my American eyes once durning the entire video, I squinted ,but didn't close them.  And yes, given the opportunity , I would like to think I'd drive it like I stole it.

I do remember Jay Leno I think it was a video although could of been and article that he really likes the British/European classic car scene over the American one for one very special reason. They drive the snot out of their vehicles race them etc it means there is a parts supply for whatever to care to name normally run buy the relevant club.

He then goes onto explain he was trying to get a small run of Duesenburg sp? heads done but the couple of owners he contacted didn't see the point the car only ever motored off the trailer and across to the display area.

The classic UK racing series has gotten rather serious of late to modern engineering and machining techniques and simply by knowing more now they the people back then a lot of the classic racers are putting out more power than the factory specials of the day ever did and will run the full season with no problems again unlike the factory racers.

I noticed tha once he was no longer dicing with a car in front, his steering smoothed out considerably.
I think a lot of that back and forth was just trying to feel out the best way to get an advantage and go around.
