Is this a viable option for these bikes? Any experience with these units in this particular application?
Another question- Is the odometer/ EU to USA (Celsius to Fahrenheit) independent of a re-flash? Can a re-flash disable the bike at an unannounced time (down the road) or are they "set in stone" so to speak? Re flash of stock ECU is what I am talking about-
I am a vintage bike guy, so this new ECU stuff is still all Greek to me.
Thanks-

Completely unnecessary as the 15MRC is completely accessible now. Just find someone who knows what they're doing to build a map.
Generally speaking though the twin TB V7's work well enough as long as they're left alone and tuned properly. You are not going to get a big performance change by doing anything to them.

To clarify second question- Hypothetical situation.
Re flash is done, bikes run perfect for a week. Suddenly bike goes bongos, wont start, runs for 10 seconds, lights flash, etc. etc. Can a re flash "degrade" so to speak, or is it set in stone now within the MCU. Basically if it's running perfect, then it goes nuts, it's got nothing to do with the re flash? This is what I assume to be true, but I am just beginning to learn these things about injected bikes.

An EMP blast might do it. Do you have a neighbour who doesn't like you? In the normal course of events, if something like that happens a week after you flashed your ECU, I'd be looking at a lot of other things first, before blaming it on that. The 15RC is stable & forgiving. 6 years & 166,000 km & 3 different mufflers tells me so. Another member on here is happy with his myECU on his '09 V7C (a whole ECU substitute, not an add-on) but he installed that before the days of Guzzidiag & the wealth of knowledge & experience we now have available. This ECU is pretty much set & forget & the advantage over c...s, as Pete's old mentor tell it, is your hands don't smell of petrol for a week after.
I'd really like to be able to set the time as the default, rather than the temperature, but I've learned to live with it. Another matter of upcoming concern is the rumour that the odometer won't count past 1999,999. It's wait & see on that one.

"Re-flash" refers to transferring new information into flash memory to replace the original information. It could be the control program or data or both. It's just as permanent as the original was, it's just different, and presumably an improvement in one or more ways.

Thanks, that is what I figured. I will start a thread with my "friends" Guzzi issue and get to the bottom of it!

The short answer is 'no'.
Was it reflashed in situ, or did you send it away to be done? If sent away, you might want to check the connection to the ECU is good. Pull the plug and check for moisture or corrosion.

Thanks- Done in situ

As mentioned in the other post it sounds like a ground issue. Either that or the other likelihood is the ignition switch has pulled a wire off the soldered connection of the backing plate. In fact that would be my first guess given the circumstances.
Try turning on the ignition and then swinging the bars gently from lock to lock. If the dash intermittently tries to light up or lights and then goes out while the bars are moving its most likely the switch.

Malik,
Do you mean me? I've got a MyECU on an '09 V7C and it's great. Although the system needs a "hands on" approach and is not for those who simply want a simple plug+play approach.

Mal,
Thanks for the recognition. Notice from others is the real currency of the internet.
