Title: Wildgoose Chase - The boards
Post by: flynguzzi on May 18, 2017, 01:00:08 PM
It was last night when I was turning off the computer that I realized I am on this forum more than I am on Facebook....

Reason: Less drama, no fake news, real people - no posers, no pop-ups and people I actually know and have met at rallys.  Win-Win!

I spend more time a lot of places other than Facebook, since I don't use Facebook.

It's kind of habit forming. Beats the hell out of Facebook.

I always seem to start, and end my day here. Best forum on the net, motorcycle info, as well as an eclectic blend of everything else.....kinda like the members, what a great group, and most of all, folks here are respectful of each other, and keep it "real"!
Thank you, Luap, and the Moderators, you guys rock!    :thumb:

Yep! Another non-Facebook user here!  On rare occasions I miss not being able to see what is on some friends pages but not often.

I know very little about facebook but a while back I was talking to a police recruiting officer and he said if you are applying for a job facebook can be your worst enemy.  I also know an insurance adjuster who checks facebook after all claims. Hmmm!

I enjoy the MGNOC Facebook page personally. Also Eldo Mike's Parts page. I also keep in touch with riding buddies that don't post here and used to. Talk smack all you want to, FB is what you make it. You don't have to get in political discussions if you don't want to, just keep scrolling. I've seen many humorous and entertaining things on FB that I don't see here. Just MHO<shrug>

Oh, and good AMA flat track info too!

From day one on FB I have never posted anything I wouldn't want my 92 yo Baptist mother to read.

No she does not. Just my personal FB policy. Just no need to be vulgar for the general public. But as you know, I'm no prude.

It's all good and a good way to enjoy the "real world" we live in.  So much of the alternates just don't do it .

Glad that WG exists....

I probably wouldn't own a guzzi if not for all the guys here because I know I can get help if something bad goes wrong with the Calvin. My nearest dealer is 100 miles away. I have been given things on two different occasions at no charge and have paid it forward also. Love this forum and hope to meet some of you guys in person someday soon:)

My name is Nick and I'm a Facebook addict, although I restrict Facebooking to a bunch of motorcycle specific (mostly closed) forums such as RealClassic where the tone and essence is very much like Wildgoose.

There is good stuff and there are good people on FB - you just have to look for it.  Or alternatively you could.............. ......

When Facebook first started, I looked at it and imagined how much time each day I'd "waste" if I was really involved.
Just said no. I waste enough time each day on WG..

I hate to say it, but that DOES sound like an addict talking.   "Anyone who doesn't share my addiction has something wrong with them .... ".    I've seen enough of it to know what a teeny-bopper "look at me partying" thing it generally is.   No time to wade through it, no desire to be associated with it ....

Though I don't post a lot, I know I can ask stupid questions and get intelligent answers on WG... seriously, moderators here are great Peace-makers.

At least for me, WG moderators are performing a real 'ministry' here, from a secular perspective. :thumb:

Similar experience here, I registered right after they started and soon realised it's doesn't suits me.

The deregistration process was very painful till it turned dislike into hate.

Never signed up for Face Book and probably never will.

I spend too much enough time on this site and I don't think I would find a better source of knowledge, assistance or inspiration on FB, all the smart folks are here

Anyway, anyone who can't understand "as much fun as a bucketful of hemorrhoids" must have the brains of a bandicoot. <shrug>
