Greetings all,
I recently picked up a '93 Daytona 1000 and am looking for a few parts if anyone has a line for me:
1) Shop stand that uses the center hole through the body like this:
(http://thumb.ibb.co/cHxPCa/Daytona_on_stand.jpg) (http://ibb.co/cHxPCa)
If these stands are totally unavailable, any recommendations on an easy to use and safe shop stand for regular use?
2) Single-seat conversion (that converts a Daytona double-seat to the single cowling)
Many thanks,
Geoff

better use the shop stand made for the v11 that goes under the gearbox. The one made through the frame is no fun.

What he said. I know it is available at mgcycle.

I use this stand for the spine frames:

I ordered it through MG Cycle a few years ago. Works very well.

As for a stand on my spine frame bike, I use this Pit Bull stand the most:

Finding a factory solo tail for a Daytona 1000 is going to be a quest. The sheer rarity of the machines means both factory and aftermarket parts are hard to come by.

Thank you, gentlemen -- I appreciate the feedback.
As for shop/center stands, it seems 3 different stands were recommended! Now I'm trying to narrow that down and perhaps you can help...
Pauldaytona -- sounds like you are recommending that I completely rule out the bigger stand in my picture that goes through the frame? Is that because it's difficult to use or not well balanced? Is the one for the V11 that you pictured good for regular use (1x/week)? I'm looking to keep it on the center stand most of the time.
Dimples -- is that stand good for regular use or more for shop work? It seems to need to screw into the bike?
Rocker59 -- that Pitbull stand looks pretty good. Is it stable? Easy to use? Can you compare it against the V11 shop stand that Pauldaytona linked me to? I found this used Pitbull stand near me -- looks like the frame fit is the same, but it lifts from the back, rather than the side. Big difference? https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/mpo/6157395564.html
Thanks all,
Geoff

Congratulations on your purchase.
If it is the single seat you are chasing, here is one option

Wasn't there a factory or Stucchi or Agostini centre stand available for Centauro and Daytona? If yes that might be an option given the regularity you want to use the stand. Locating one though.....
Cheers

FG Gubellini moto stands if you can still find them in the US. I also have a matching front stand from them for my Daytona

The advantages for the forward tilting rear stand are that it's much easier/safer for one-person use, and rear wheel removal is much easier.

Thank you kind sir.

I use an engine hoist. Works on all bikes and automobile engines too. :thumb:

Ditto
I used the stand (Stucchi?) that worked for both my V11 and the Daytona RS. I think I ordered it from Moto International.
Looked like the same one shown by Paul above.
You must be careful to make sure you center the stand notches on the pork chop nuts.
