I was setting the lash on my 229cc CSC ZenShong today. Its basically a knockoff of a seventies era Honda CG 125cc motor. Very simple, very rugged.
Anyway it took me quite a while to get the gap just right, as its specked at 0.07 mm. The gap can range from 0.07 -- 0.04mm, but to set the gap at 0.07 mm because as the valve wears the gap will shrink. I get that it's a smaller motor, but I recall the big block Guzzi gap at something significantly greater?

Did you re-torque the head too? Go like you are going big side of gap.

My antique Guzzi Falcone single 500 runs nearly zero-zero. Valve lash improves as the horizontal cylinder lengthens under heat.

Yes , and the OP's little motor is OHC , and OHC engines run small valve lash settings .

My `91 VX800 Suzuki SOHC water cooled V-twin 4 valve clearance is .004" good for at least 18K miles. Right now it has 84.5K miles on it and it still hardly loses any dino oil between oil changes.

The CSC TT250 (if that's what Bad Chad's bike is) has a pushrod engine, not OHC.

Well I stand corrected then .

My GS Suzuki runs about under .002 set correctly. They don't get adjusted (bucket & shim) unless I catch them around .001. That's in inches, the factory calls for .03-.08 mm. My Guzzis have always had many times that clearance.
