What would you suggest the bottom line on a 2001 Moto Guzzi California Special.
First owner laid it down and put leather bags on it.
I got the original bags that was scratched up. As well as the brackets $ hardware.
I have a center stand and crash bar that needs to be installed. (Hardware needed.)
Mistral mufflers installed by Guzzi shop in Chicago.
14,755 miles.
I am the 3rd owner. Since 2006.

Ya may want to check Kelly Blue Book and NADA for the retail value in your area. It's as good a place as any to start to get an answer.

The books aren't that accurate for Guzzis. Not enough market.
A nice Bassa/Special can be bought for $3500.
A bike with issues will be less.

Welcome! We had a bfree here some time back. Are you the same?
My first impression is that the PO didn't need to lay the bike down to put the bags on. Complete overkill. He could have installed them with the bike upright.
Second, I'd put the oem mufflers back on if you have them, and use the other accessories as bargaining chips. In my experience, $500 of kickstands and crashbars don't pay off at sale time. They're better used to sweeten the deal, take back value from a lowballer, or sell separately later.
Finally, I'd agree that the top dollar is in the $3500 range, and would reflect a top-dollar bike. ymmv, but with a nice 2003 Stone available right now at $2k, you'd have to have something really nice to get $3500.
All strictly my opinion.

4000.00 low miles (10,000 unlaid down perfect everything
if its brown and creme and got over 100,000 miles it's worth about a million

$2500.-$3500. ? Its kinda hard to tell without seeing the bike, and knowing history , but that seems to be the range for those these days. Of course well maintained bikes owned by known enthusiast, great records, and cosmetics will drive the price up, a bit. A decent one was brought to the attention on the group recently for about $2000. I have seen some beauties owned by meticulous guys here that I would have no problem paying $5000. for.

KBB says: "Excellent Condition $3,710 when purchasing from a dealer". But surely this is not as accurate as all the experts here!!!
My rule of thump when selling privately is to ask about 15% below the quoted dealer pricing(all me bikes are kept in excellent condition) then expect to give up a little more in the negotiating process.
Good luck to ya.....

I have just come to accept that I am kind of a bike whore. It is not unusual for me to keep a bike 6-12 months before getting the itch for a different one. Now I price them to sell and just look at the lower price as the cost of my hobby. Much cheaper than changing the wife that often. :thewife:

Rodekyll, nice to see you are still around. I am the same bfree. Just getting too old to ride. I messed my right wrist up a bit and it's too hard to ride for more than 30 minutes. Can someone point me to where I can sell the bike?
