11 degrees C but no wind and a warm sun. I took the 1100 for a ride. I normally ride on the back road twistys but today stayed on the straights. I had forgotten what a relaxed comfortable and smooth bike this can be. I just wanted to keep riding. Of course I had to give it a couple of honks out to 8000rpm just to remind it that today was just a midwinter anomaly.

Yeah. Like never! LOL.
That's a Sport 1100 carb, which were made 1994-1996.
The 1994 Sport 1100 came on the heels of the 1993 Daytona 1000. The much cheaper to produce 1100 engine knocked four grand off the MSRP of the Daytona, giving more people access to riding Guzzi's endurance racer chassis on the street.

I have a silver 95 "spot" wide flat seat is very comfortable to me.
Tall first not great in stop and go traffic, but once rolling, it's fine.
Do you have the trapezoid headlight? Looks like yours is a 95 too

When you guys say "comfortable"...do you mean "comfortable for a sportsbike?" Or actually comfortable? Do you have strain on your wrists?
Just curious. The sport 1100/daytona have been recent objects of motolust for me and I'm curious to know more about one.

I've done 850 mile days. I do have Helibars, but if you flip the right to left stock bars, it's just about the same thing.
I've never been comfortable with a bucket type seat, that locks you into one position.
In town/stop and go will put pressure on your wrists, but I don't do much, if any "city" type riding.

When riding a bike like this you shouldn't be leaning on your arms to hold you up. Your core muscles should hold you and your arms should be loose.
Or you just rest your gut on the tank like me... :cheesy:

Just a reply to a couple of questions.
The Sport is a 1996 model and must have been one of the last made. It has the Trapezoidal light.
I am only 5 Foot 7inch tall so I do stretch out on the bike.
I have never had sore wrists, vibration numbed fingers or other comfort issues with this bike. The suspension is softish the wind protection very good and of course the high gearing makes for a relaxed ride. There is very little vibration through the metal footrests and only a general distant feeling hum through the tank and bars. The bike is extremely stable in all conditions. The only real riding issue for me is that I struggle to look over my shoulder for traffic when manouvering. I have to lift one hand off the bars to look behind me. Keeping to our legal speed limit is a problem so when neccessary I just run along in 3rd or 4th gear. I get good fuel mileage between almost 20/km per litre and down to 16/km per litre depending on the use of the throttle.

What I meant, in stop and go/city riding your on the gas, then on the brake. You are putting weight on your arms.
Cars cutting you off, running lights, you are naturally more tense.

I converted mine to that smaller light as it makes the bike look better, and I almost never ride at night.

You don't want a Sport 1100 as a city commuter. There are other better bikes for that. Tall gearing, heavy clutch, sporty seating all add up to work in town.
My 1996 Sport 1100 is the 1st Guzzi I bought and that was 20 years ago.
Fantastic sporty Italian motorcycle in its element. I've done lots of long days on mine, including the 2015 Colorado Classic 1000.
