2017 July 20- 23 Rally in Paonia, Colorado. Escape the heat with a great rally with vendors, entertainment, food, camping, etc. BEST RIDING IN THE STATE. This the best annual rally in Colorado put on by the BMW of Colorado Club. NOT a brand specific rally. Only a few Guzzis show up every year and we need more. Since we no longer have an official Guzzi rally in Colorado, this is a great alternative. I was one of the organizers for our Salida rallies, and now I run registration for this one. July 20-23rd. Check out the link and lets make this a great "not a Guzzi, Guzzi rally" You'll love this rally and the town of Paonia.
You can arrive and camp at the park Wednesday the 19th if you want!

I think I shall try to make it to bolster the Moto Guzzi crowd, at least. Besides, I like that ride from here in New Mexico, up through Creede and Lake City.
-
Wish I could go. Dang work. Have a good time and post pictures!
-
Scott,
I will probably be there.
There is another Guzzi gathering in Colorado, in September

See you there too?

I'll be at both. Cheers!

Hey Dan, Yeah, I'll be in Ouray. Aren't I still sharing your campsite? Do come to the Paonia rally if you haven't ever been here. It is a great rally. Well worth the ride. Plus I want to put a few miles on that V7ii to see if I would like to downsize a bit. If you still miss your Stelvio, you could fire mine around a bit. -Scott

Scott.
WRT Ouray - you are on for the campsite - sometimes my memory ....
I have been to TOR Paonia two or three times. Great riding there.
Yes, we can do a bike swap - perhaps on a North Rim ride?
-
I am trying to make it. I plan to be at Red Rocks the following weekend for Tedeschi Truck.
Don't laugh at me for pulling a travel trailer. Are those Beemer guys real mean? :undecided:

Beemer riders are mostly like Guzzi riders these days. Bunch of old guys on motorcycles. You won't hear ANY brand bashing at this rally. only difference is that you will see more offroad bikes like the GS. They love to admire my Stelvio. :azn:

I don't care if they make fun of my Guzzi, I was more concerned I'd be shunned due to the travel trailer. :embarrassed:

You will have to park your trailer away from the city park where the rally is, so most won't even know you have it. I'm pretty sure the rally has a designated parking area.
A number of the attendees stay in motels, etc. So you won't be any different than them.

Thanks for the reminder! Really nice area !

Hmmm-m...
I am apparently among several "Dan" people on this board. I am Dan Martin of Longmont CO aka M0T0Geezer. I ride a silver 2004 high mileage Breva 750.
I am committed to going to the September Not-A-Rally in Ouray, CO. Will hope to be able to also attend the July 20 N-A-R in Paonia CO. Nice birthday present for me too.
Guzzi if ya gottem !!!

Actually quite a few a travel Trailers at the rally. There are designated areas for them a couple blocks away, and at the High School. No hookups, but there is also a motel in town that has some full hookup spots. The Redwood Arms.
-
Thanks Arc. I've contacted the motel and they said I could drop my trailer there. They said I could use their water fill and dump station too. (I don't think I would need electric hook up to run air )
If I make it I might try the high school or wherever the most folks are hanging out.
My biggest challenge is making a plan to align other commitments and finding where I can drop off my trailer to visit friends SW of Denver.
-
That's a great rally, those folks do a great job.
-
Right now I am planning to be there. The Mrs and I will have our travel trailer, the V11 Sport and the EV.
The folks at Redwood Arms said we could keep the trailer there.
I think we'll be towing across I70 rather than come from the south. Hope to see you guys and discover some new roads. I know the south half of 92 is great ride all on it's own.
-
Packed my trailer. Taking off tomorrow. Hope to be there Thursday evening. Looking at staying at the elementary school next to the park.
Thinking about that KOA in Ouray next week to beat the heat. Then Tedeschi Trucks in Red Rocks.
Hope to meet my fellow listers. I'll have the Greenie and EV.

I count seven Guzzis parked around Paonia's city park this morning, including a Stelvio and Norge from Alberta.
We've scheduled a Goose gaggle and group photo 10am Saturday at the teen center.

Good band -- three young ladies from Kansas City.

here's a few random shots. Weak internet here in motel.
the brain trust. Despite being a "beemer rally", Seth & Scott are the guys working it.

and a few more shots before I lose connection
the guys on the left are from Alberta. There were three or 4 Guzzis that drove by later in the day.

heading home tomorrow. Nice vacation and missed the 100 degree weather.
last night I saw Tedeschi Trucks at Red Rocks
and today I rode the Greenie up Guanella Pass to Georgetown. Just enough rain to keep it cool, make it interesting and no need to complain about traffic holding me up.
I hope to post some photos when I get back to the flatlands.

I'd like to try Guanella Pass, sometime. MileHighGuzzi was telling me about it, back in June 2015.
-
Great pictures John
Oh , if you lose anymore weight you won't show up in pictures  :thumb:

Guanella Pass is a lovely ride. Here's the F650 at the top last fall.

This was the day the regulator went bad and boiled the battery dry. I coasted all the way to Georgetown!
-
Guanella Pass is a nice ride (look out for the LEOs). Quite a bit of traffic on Sunday though.
Hwy 285 from Fairplay to Denver is a Death Cult.
-
Great shot, John!
Thanks Seth. Back home now. It was nice to meet you and to say hello to Scott again.
Hope to be back next year. :thumb:

I keep trying. My t-shirts aren't so tight and I'm moving down to "L". I gained some back with the travels but back to the gym tomorrow.
Thanks Dusty.
