While not Guzzi related, it is an iconic Italian transportation icon. My Thailand based brother purchased an Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 car in Greece, is driving it across Europe to the Netherlands, for shipment home to the USA.
I hope you enjoy. If you do, follow to read the installments:

Nice!

Shawn,
Your Thailand based brother is super cool!!
I love that car. Perfect for what he is doing and just so much style.
Very envious .

I love those cars. They wag their tail in response to the engine. Hard to explain, just have to see it. Mostly when the car needs downshifting or some gearing change the engine wants but the driver is holding back.

Fun Adventure and a trip they'll remember for a lifetime!! Fantastic!

What a great story , and the pictures were amazing  It would seem that Jake could use some help with his Nutella jones , boy's got it bad
Thanks Shawn :thumb:

Cool car, there was a write up on one in Italian Moto magazine a couple years ago, same 4 door beauty but it was mist green and had wood grain inserts in the interior and hot motor.
-
A buddy of mine up in Edmonton used to road-race an Alfa 1300 - it was a very cool car...

That s one of the few 4 door cars that I'd like to get my hand on. There are a few alfa geeks on this forum. This one is mine, bought it right here from a fellow boardmember about 10 years ago.

What a great family trip...some of my favorite memories are of crossing the desert with my family in an un-airconditioned 1956 Ford Station Wagon...the heat just made the stops for lemonade, ice cream, and watermelon just that much sweeter!
and yes, we DID have the canvas water bag strapped to the grille... :thumb:

Was that Gary Cooper? I used to go out to watch him and his brother ice race as well.

Whoop! Alfa for ever!
This is my 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce
That sounds like a very good trip indeed. Me and a friend drove a 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal from Rome to Denmark a few years ago. That was a very nice trip too! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170706/50c93595528dfe214a55d427b0c6be73.jpg)

I used to race against Gary and his brother in the ice races - but that wasn't who I was thinking of. The guy who had the Alfa was (no surprise!) Fred del Pero from Ital Motors. He and his dad Mario campaigned that thing for many years, and sold me my Lancia Zagato (and bought it back when I moved to the US).
I think Ital is still in that same old garage on 101st Street. They might as well declare it an historic site, since the family never let anything change

What a small world it is!
Fred is still around, I last stopped in to Ital Motors a couple years ago on my Eldo looking for a condenser, Fred shouted out something in Italian and his Dad came out of the back with a cardboard box of Magneti parts and found a match. Same two old cars in the show room, I think one was an Alpha Spyder and I can't recall the other one. I got talking top Fred bout one day opening an Italian Moto Café showing old bikes and serving espresso, Fred said that was his idea but substitute cars for bikes! Who knows maybe one day I will approach Fred and join forces.

This thread become much more interesting once I realised we're talking about a 1967 Giulia and not its 50 year younger 2017 sister
Good luck that man 👏👏👏
