Long before the SUV, they were driving these!!   Seen around my village often, it is a 1950's (??) Ford V8 Ranch Wagon. Cool beans! It says "Fordamatic" on the back. I like the colors, too!! :thumb: :1:

1955 Ford Ranch Wagon. Pretty collectable in the two door version. Ford's retort to Chevy's Nomad. Cool Car just the same

Rink Rat and Tazio are on it! I worked @ Ford dealers @ the time. How about a Ranchero Sedan Delivery? light weight Chevy panel trucks on a sedan chassis. We are regressing to the former when I see, current, bottom line 4 door sedans making deliveries of auto parts, clean your house, fix your computer, etc. R3~

My first memory of a car...my dad had a black '55 with a red interior that started out with the fake wood sides but he removed all that and installed the "V" chrome strip...no A/C...we were tough back then...crossed the desert twice with the canvas water bag in front and cold washcloths on our heads...*good times*

I got your power wagon right here. a pickup truck-size '46 Diamond T. It's a factory-produced, 2/3-size Diamond T freight truck. 48 made, according to the owner, and given by the factory to the top dealership in each state. I was intended as a sales lot tow vehicle. The owner of this one wanted it when he was 9. He tried to buy it. The owner told him to come back when he was 18 with a specified amount of money, and he could have it. The kid went to work mowing lawns for 9 years, and did. Still owns it, in Haines, AK.

We had a neighbor that bought a new 57 Chev convertible with a continental kit. WOW I couldn't afford a '57 Chev when I was 16 in 1959 and now that I'm 74 I still can't afford a '57 Chev. I dun good in life, huh?

We had a 55 sedan as my father was a Ford man. Personally, I have always liked the Nomad's.
When I was about 16 years old, working at the local grocery store as a bagger and the kid who loaded the grocery's in your vehicle, there was a woman(late 20's?) who came into the store once a week with her white Nomad. I always tried to be the one who load the grocery's into her car because I loved the vehicle and was always attracted to her, though there was something sad about the woman. Funny how some things stick in your head for a lifetime.

My dad had a '55 Ford Customline. It was the first car he bought new. It was a two-door (too stodgy to be called a coupe) and had a 265ci V8 and an automatic. It was a decent car, but only cool through rose-colored glasses!

My classic Ford is a bit newer. All original, ~80k miles, 1964 Fairlane 500.

A friend's father has a 57 Chevy two door with the V-8. He bought the car new and still has the window sticker, etc. It is in near perfect condition.
He almost couldn't buy the car as he was a black Master Sargent in the AF based in Texas in 57. He was in uniform and had cash in hand for the full amount to purchase the car but was turned down by five dealerships before he found one that would sell to him.

My father was color blind. He once brought home a 1955 Dodge wagon that was pink and grey! Beyond doubt the fugliest car I have ever seen. My mother did not react too kindly to that one.

Everyone must have been colorblind back then!
As far as the OP Ford Ranch Wagon goes, it's SO close! What's with those awful aluminum wheels on a nice stock-looking car .... ?

Yeah, I hate non-stock wheels on what is basically a classic original car.

As a kid, I had to ride around in one of these:

Ours was closer to a Pepto Bismol pink though. Color blindness was not the excuse, the budget was...
