That is a ton of stuff..

A man who wanted enough interesting projects to last him a lifetime of fooling with motorcycles needs to just buy that stuff and go. I'll bet most of the projects could be finished without buying another thing ....

A Morini 500
Well Michigan is only about a 5,000 mile round trip, 3 days over and 3 days back in the middle of November. My traveling companion Mojo the wonder spaniel is up for it.
So how deep does the snow get that time of year?
Maybe I should swing by Wisconsin and get Mo a little buddy.

Not too much farther north in Michigan, I've seen cane poles rigged to bumpers with flags on top so you can see if there is someone at a 4 way stop. <shrug>

I remember wearing a snowsuit to go trick or treating in NE Ohio as a kid. Michigan in mid-November, yeah there could be snow but in this case it might be worth the trip.

I used to look for excuses to go up there and visit with Larry just so I could look around. Hoarders paradise that looks like it ceased being a dealer in 1985 and started accumulating stuff. Hope it all goes to deserving people that would do what he wanted.
My first visit there was 2005ish fresh outta college looking to track down a V11 sport. I saw online he was listed as a dealer, knocked on the door, he answered and said he wanted nothing to do with Guzzi because they owed him back money for warranty repair he never got. Finally got talking to him, he was a great guy, and mentioned what I was looking for. He took me across the street where he had a green v11 sport in the crate   I asked if he would sell it, he thought about it and said no he was going to keep it as it was.
Wonder what happened to it. Sad story. Larry was a heck of a guy and very interesting.

WOW,
That hoard could keep me busy for a very long time.
If I bought the lot I would need to look for a new home as well as my wife would certainly leave me!
I sure would miss her. :thewife:

Middle of November should be cold but not much snow. Last year, up in Traverse City (4 hrs NW) I enjoyed sunny and mid-60's for the Ice Man mountain bike race in early November. It was the Nice Man. The other time I raced was a miserable mid-30's with a snow/rain mix. Pity the auction isn't in September... my favorite month around here.
Just hope there's no UM football home game that Saturday or plan your travels around game traffic. The exit to the fair grounds off of I-94 is the same one many take to the Big House... that's the largest college stadium in the country for those who don't follow college football. > 110,000. :boozing:

Those Ducati singles and that Norton (an Atlas?) sure would make nice projects. That Loop and those T3s
are pretty sweet, too.
-
Pretty clean looking 850 Le Mans...doesn't look very "used".
-
Looks like it still has the big rubber gasket around the headlight. Rare.

I'd be surprised if there is more than a few thousand miles on that Le Mans.

The pictures and description don't even begin to scratch the surface of what Larry had accumulated in close to 50 years as a Norton, Ducati and Moto Guzzi dealer and parts supplier. And that's not to mention his personal collection of bikes of all sorts and the motorcycle book business; he was probably the world's single biggest source specializing in motorcycle literature of all kinds. If anyone here remembers the Flint Indian Sales auction in 1992, this auction will be of similar stature.
If you want to follow the details as the two auctions draw closer (appetizers on 19 August and the main course on 18 November), you might want to bookmark these pages on the Braun & Helmer Auction Services site:

The Lemans 3 in the picture has 19k. It was a tradein, Larry had me do a complete service on it. What a sweet bike, I rode on the test loop, like anew bike! Its a sweetheart.

Glad I'm old now and have too many bikes/scooters already. Nowadays the wife says, what am I supposed to do with all this stuff when you die? :boxing: (she's younger than me)

She'll have a new kitchen, new Range Rover, who knows what all ....

I had Larry Klein's auction on my calendar for Saturday 11/18 but just found out it's now happening on Tuesday 10/24 with inspection on Monday 10/23.
Not sure why the change of date but that's what the internet says...
-
The page for next month's auction showed different items than the new one.

There are two auctions. 10/24 for parts, etc. 11/18 for the bikes, etc..
Best place to see it is on AuctionZip.com (full disclosure, a company I work for)
