Does anybody have a suggestion for a waterproof UV stabilized poly tape? My wife's car was hit in the back and the hatch was damaged. Insurance totaled the car but it's still a good work car. I'm using red duct tape tape to seal the opening, of course the duct tape is now deteriorating and will need replaced. Surely there is a waterproof UV stabilized poly tape made? It would be great if I can get it in red (car color). Thanks for any suggestions.

Would sign vinyl work for what you want? It isn't that strong but it survives full sun for many years.

I would think it would. Can this be bought on 3" wide rolls?

OK, started looking around and I think a general purpose 3M Vinyl tape will do what I want. Can even get red! Amazon has this.

This has been covering a fist size rust hole on my van for 3 years in Chicago, still holding up well :boozing:

Why not just look for a decent used hatch that seals up. Then you won't have to worry about carbon monoxide poisoning.
Unfortunately when the car got rear ended it also deformed the surrounding hatch opening. I wish I could just replace the hatch. Car is now used as my work car for my 5 minute commute.
