Title: choke cable routing.. dellorto pumpers
Post by: 77gears on August 15, 2017, 05:23:28 PM
Hi,
Working on a friend's 1993 1000S. It has the 36 Dellorto pumper carbs. The choke and even the throttle cables seem really crowded and taking too many turns routed under the two frame rails. The carbs almost have to be tilted to make the cables not bunch up.

Is there any chance the cables go on top of the frame rails?? Between the tank and the frame i mean. There are rubber mounts that keep space between the tank and frame. Seems like it would be a much straighter shot to the carbs.

It has the factory clip ons that came with it.

Many thanks for any advise.
Pete

Almost all the cables to the carbs I've seen go from throttle to around steering neck then between tank frame on the LH side, one goes accross airbox to the RH side. Cables are coming out between tank & frame rails usually.

I could also remember wrong.(disclaimer)

Brilliant. Thank you.
That is where they look like they WANT to go. Between the tank and frame.
I will try it.
Thanks again

Whatever lines up better w/carbs are strait. My LM3 goes to the inside cause of the lever tops on it. I keep hardly any zip ties on them, that keeps them free flowing and not tight or binding.
