Looks like the same configuration as the Motus, which is 1400cc. I don't think it's water cooled, just oil. Any more data on what we're seeing here? When was it built? Any production plans?

Crikey, those are bizarre!

Give Nor-Cal a hug from a displaced native.

The 'W' three was thought up in the late eighties and never progressed past mock-up stage. The smallblock V4 was a couple of years later from memory. It too was a mock-up.

Motus is 1,650 cc.

The factory figured out that the gains of a V4 weren't with the time or money to develop.  Easier to make the V twin large and spin it more.  It would be less complex too.(pre-FI)  :thumb:  Look at their V8.

You are right Tom.

Here is the 500cc V8.

Thought I would add one more.  We must all remember that the development of the first bike started in 1955.  My understanding it took 10 months from initial drawings to first mock up.

The one you see here ( Sammy Miller museum ) was fitted with modern electronics.  Instead of 8 sets of points.

The current V twin design of the engine for Moto Guzzi is a proven expandable design.  Infinitely (almost) expandable and just spin the crank.  Hence the current 1400 models.
