For the most part he didn't do much for me but he had a hell of a good long run and career.

He did so much for MD. It's a cruel disease. I loved his humor, but I like that silly kinda stuff.

I grew up with a constant flow of "special needs" kids coming and going in our household. Seeing the reality and sadness of developmental disabilities, birth defects, and mental retardation, on a daily basis, I never appreciated Jerry's aping them. I think his MS work was part penance for what he knew was a career of cheap laughs at their expense. So I guess it evens out in the end, maybe?

I've worked with many people with disabilities of all kinds, never crossed my mind that he was "aping" anyone except goofy college professors.
