Received my SI kit from MPH today, not sure which relay is correct. searched some old topics and want to confirm it is the 2nd relay looking from the rear of the gas tank. Thanks in advance!

Does this even apply to a 750 Breva?

Yep, the original kit was developed for the 750 Breva first.
It is No. 36 in Carl Alison's wiring diagrams. I usually can identify it by listening or feeling for the click when the starter is pressed; only one relay will be operating.

Awesome, thank you! I lost Carl's diagrams a couple of crashes ago.

Just as an aside, I thought I had Startus Interruptus. Instead, there is a metal shield inside the starter motor. This had come loose and had worn through the shellac on the windings and was shorting things out. Threw the **** thing away and it has gone okay ever since.

I just realized this little diagram I posted was to cut the loom wiring. I believe the MPH solution did not alter the stock wiring in any fashion.
You can get the full wiring diagram here: http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/schematics/2004_750_Breva.gif

It applied to my 2004 Breva 750. I posted a rather detailed description of how to do this without the kit (which is a more elegant and neater solution, eliminating all the fun of wiring, fusing, soldering, crimping, and such).
It is my contention that this is actually a problem that has the potential to affect any MG from the last 50 years, since they all ran the starter voltage on tiny wires up through the switch. Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, as Oscar said (misquoting Johnson).
The relay involved is usually (but not always) the second one on the right frame side on most small-blocks of the modern era. It can be easily identified by placing a finger on each relay in turn as you briefly attempt to start the engine. You can feel it trip.

Thank you all for your help! Any other 2004 Breva 750 owners doing this fix, it's the second relay, (facing the rear of the fuel tank) on the right.
Hopefully this will address the issue long term. thanks again! :bike-037:
