Title: Maybe buying a Nevada? For when in Europe
Post by: ratguzzi on August 22, 2017, 10:18:09 AM
My job sends be to Europe a lot, mostly our sister company in Swiebodzin, Poland. Where I am currently working now for a couple weeks. I have a 350 Jawa I keep there with a friend and it's taken me around quite well. But we are getting busier and it looks like I will be traveling to here more often so I can "up" my investment. I have about $350 USD in the Jawa, purchase price and a few items over the last 5-6 years. Local version of craigslist has a Nevada for sale not too far away with 23,000 kilometers on the clock. My friend called the guy up and he has owned the bike for years but at 70 years old, he doesn't trust himself on it. It is registered, insured and inspected so I can legally ride it for 2 weeks before my friend will register it in his name. New tires, fresh maintenance, etc. 99% sure I will own it (well, co-own it, my money!) this Saturday for about $2000 USD. Which is what I decided my max would be for a bike here that will sit more than it's ridden.

Nice, older w/carbs. I found the newer one a very nice riding position.

They are fun to ride. Just got back from a 1,000 mi trip and the bike hummed along perfectly.

They are a good bike, but built for short legged folks😊

I think I "resemble" that!  :>)

i filled in the low wide saddle, so to speak, with an air hawk, pad, and sheepskin, about 2-3-4"...turns it into a more flat single seat forward to back and I can move aft all I want to to stretch my legs...but I'm really just doing short trips...1 hour is a grand tour..

I've been muttering to a lot of people that it's really damn close to  850T3 when I do that with the seat, minus about 150lbs of rear subframe...it does have what I think would be a flat track feel to the front end, i.e. hard on the gas that fat rear digs in and the front wheel gets a touch light and you start to cross up the front to the outside....other than that just a carbed version of your newer v7's..I'm guilty of bouncy off some yellow red lines with this sweet little motor, I hope she survives my ownership...

Modified: so like yeah, at 190 lbs if I move my arse (roper content) back so far to be comfortable, of course they front end gets light....doh!

That looks like a well cared for one.  I get the Nevada is a bit of an ugly Betty, but by all accounts it seems to be a very well thought out SB.  I'm not sure why it gets so little respect.  Well, yes I think I do know, its simply because its a 750cc cruiser, that has semi questionable looks, but since when have you cared about how nice a bike looks!!!

I like Guzzi small blocks, and the Nevada is a good one to be sure!  Makes perfect sense to me!  Be careful, don't burn your fingers,  I think those ovens you work on can get kind of warm!

It might be the ugliest Guzzi ever made, but it's still a Guzzi and it will not be a mystery to you mechanically. Familiarity is always an advantage when far from your workshop. It looks in good nick, too. Sweet.

The 750 SB mill is the most well behaved of the lot. Even torque over the range and nice bottom pull. The Nevada is a very nice bike. It will serve you well :thumb:

Ciao

Hhhmm. Never had a 2 stroke before. And Poland isn't *that* far [emoji848]
Would you keep me in the loop when you sell it?
