Title: Tires '90 LeMans
Post by: dxhall on August 23, 2017, 09:51:17 PM
My new '90 LeMans needs new tires pretty badly.  The usual suspects don't show a lot of choices.  Any recommendations?  The sizes are 100/90 - 18  and 120/80 - 18.

My 1987 has the same size wheels. The 88 is spec'd for 100x90 front and 120x90 rear. So that's what I installed and couldn't be happier with the handling. I got Cheap Shinkos (forget which ones) but they were the cheapest of the bunch - something like $100/pair. They look great and handle well. No idea how long they last, but according to reports they seem to hold up well.

I used Pirelli Sport Demons on my 1991 Le Mans.  They handled great and had decent tread life.

Have a look at Continental Classic Attacks. I *think* they have them in that size, but haven't looked it up. Great, if expensive, tires.

Thanks to all.  Other than Shinko, the Sport Demons are the only tires I've found that come in the stock size.  I'll go with those.
