Title: Lonelec cables for Guzzi Diag
Post by: NHMike on August 28, 2017, 04:23:32 PM
I ordered cables direct from Lonelec last week, haven't received any tracking or shipping details. Has anyone else experienced this? Does shipping from UK take abnormally longer? I Have emailed as well, still nothing. Funds were processed through paypal, I guess a phone call is next.

Thanks.

Be patient, they will arrive. It is not Amazon, they have to cross borders, and there is a delay.

Lonelec are a good company to deal with if the cables don't arrive give them a phone call. There has been a bank holiday here in the UK over the weekend maybe this may have slowed things down a bit.

Just a few days for mine.  I recall it seeming surprisingly quick at the time.

Anything that comes from Europe/Asia to my US PO box, it takes about 1~2 weeks for me

Anything that ships to my Canadian home address takes 2+ months...

so...just be patient and it will show up soon...

I've had a couple of cases now where someone has bought the London Electric cables when I began my ride to their house, and had them on hand when I got there -- less than a week both times.  Mine took longer, maybe 8 days.

One note on those cables -- the approved drivers do not work properly if you have a USB driver for anything else installed on the computer.  I had a PROLIFIC driver for my marine nav. GPS installed.  It was assigned to a different bank of USB ports, but interfered with the guzzidiag drivers anyway.  I could not get the cable to work until I removed the PROLIFIC drivers from the computer.

Per Mark's recommendations, I believe he attached the preferred drivers to use, I will double check though.

What I'm trying to say is that even with the proper driver installed, a "foreign" driver present on the computer can still make the cable malfunction.

Funny you mention this, I ordered the cables on 8/7, and they have yet to arrive to my NY address...

Mine didn't arrive so I dropped Lonec an email with my order/receipt number, received a very prompt apology and tracking details for the shipping of the parts.

I paid with PayPal and it appears that my zip code wasn't passed along when the address was sent back to London Electric. It's probably sitting in some USPS basket waiting to be manually sorted.

Oh, I se what you mean, like a driver from a printer or something similar.

Yes, but instead of a printer driver, it's a driver for another usb-to-serial converter for another device I use.
