Who has the info on the KY Guzzi Rally near Frankfort, KY.  It's coming up (I think) and it's a good one to attend.

So far, the plan is for the Kid to bring his Spot and I'll ride the Mighty Scura. Dorcia will pull the camper down. She's a good girl..

Tony, I did a little cut/paste from your response on the other thread in hopes of making the rally more noticeable. Hopefully, the mods will merge that thread into this one.

Thanks everyone for putting our rally info up. Wood is cut and split, Karla has the chili made, meat ordered for Sat. night. Hope I'm here to enjoy it. Irma looks to be a real bitch. Hoping my crew gets left here to cover the home front.

Hard to believe as I've been an MG owner and enthusiast for some 13 or more years now and never been to the KY Rally.  Gonna try to get up there at least one day this year.

It really is a fantastic place to host a rally. I kind of miss the old pavilion with its shingled roof, (the tin gets noisy if getting rained on), but a nice boxed in fireplace at one end insures a place to get warm whenever needed.

Evidently, it's possible to rent a camper there, based on a previous post here in this thread. (I recall you have back troubles.) The most social times are usually in the evenings.

We're headed down Thursday.
For those of you that might not know.. there's a Chihuly exhibit at Maker's Mark through October.
Reservations recommended. I've never been there, but I understand it's a nice ride from the rally.

Chuck,  I don't know if you're aware of it or not but Chihuly is an artist in blown glass.  We have some of his works here in Columbus.  Unfortunately, his works don't hold any liquid so you have to buy the booze separately.  BTW, Makers Mark is good stuff.

I'm planning on arriving on Thursday also.  I don't know about Nick from NJ or Laura/Dwight Blake from PA.

Ride safe out there.

That's the plan. Brad is bringing his Spot. Don't know if Dorcia is up to that long of a ride or not.

Enzo and crew are great people! I have been looking for a nice Guzzi. I had looked at the 2007 at Cadre Cycles, Enzo's dealership. He actually called me to see if I minded him taking the wheel off the bike to help someone. That's a true act of integrity! I can't speak highly enough.

Since I recently joined the Guzzi Clan, this was my first Guzzi rally.  I felt welcomed from the start and everyone I met was very laid back.  I even heard a respectful discussion and disagreement about a very sensitive political topic.  I guess the people are like the brand and the country it comes from in that they know how to enjoy life.  I can't say I have ever had a better time or better carrot and lemon cake at a rally.  Can't wait for next year.

Let me join in on props for Enzo and Cadre MG. He took a wheel off a bike, making it unsalable until he gets another, brought it to the rally for Jim.. and *didn't hose him* like some dealers would.  Matter of fact, it sounds like he gave him a deal from the numbers I heard.  :thumb:
The Kid said, "I'm not in the market for a Guzzi, but if I were, I know where I would go."
Me, too. That was above and beyond, Enzo.

FWIW, that fella with the water bottle is Enzo's partner at Cadre, Carl. Likely the guy who'll answer the phone. stand up dudes, running numbers for a part for me as a result of the visit as well. Hung out for the evening, looking agog at some of the bikes just like the rest of us do, asked permission to sit on Randy's quota and was giddy when he was told to help himself.

The Kid and I meandered down Thursday via a road along the Ohio river, then ky. 227 and 355 to 127 and the rally site. Nice ride.  Dorcia was already there with the camper, so we started setting up in the heat of the day. Hmmm, not too bright.. we could have waited until late evening. Come to think of it, though.. we might not have figured out how to set up the camper by then..  At any rate, we were welcomed by some of the earlier arrivals and beer.  :boozing: Nothing better than a cold beer after a hot ride.

Carla and Donna had bbq that evening. It was much appreciated. There was a gathering around our camper later in the evening, a bottle of Knob Creek magically appeared, and many of the world's problems were solved. (except for politics and religion, of course.)
There is currently a Chihuly exhibit at Maker's Mark, and John Henry led Kidsmoke, Randy, The Kid, Dorcia and I to the distillery Friday morning. We got lost of course.. everyone does. <shrug>
A line of hand blown MM color reeds lined the path to the start of the tour: Kidsmoke on the left..

There were *many* pieces.. I'll show a few.
This tree IIRC will be permanent. It lights up, and I'll bet it is spectacular at night.

Dorcia shows off a blue "fountain" that is designed to remind you of the limestone waters at the distillery. If it doesn't light up, he's missing a good bet.

By the time we returned Friday afternoon, many had arrived and set up. Always good to meet old (and new) friends. This guy must be a kindred spirit. It is his first Guzzi rally, and he told me he was impressed with the knowledge of the attendees. He said previous rallies he'd attended were filled with check riders. You know.. if you want to maintain your bike, just write a check.   Nice chook, btw.

Speaking of check riders, NoGuzzi Dave  was there on his Mulitstrada, and he led Pat Cowden, the Kid, and I on a uhh.. spirited ride of about 150 miles of Kentucky goodness Saturday. Yeah Baby!
Sunday morning was foggy as usual. Depend on taking down a wet tent at the Ky. rally. In the words of the immortal Babe the Pig, "That's the way life is."
Thanks to all that worked tirelessly so the rest of us could have a good time! Kentucky is one of the best.. :thumb:

I'll tag on here with one more pic. This was a brief detour on the way back from makers mark at the four roses distillery. I nailed it. note lower right.
This is Chuck, the kid, and Randy. Sorry. Don't know his board name.

Nice weekend all around.

Looks, sounds like you folks had a good 'ole time.   How many riders made it?  Even a Motus rider participated.   Would have liked to see that up close.

That Norge front rim sure got whacked.  Had that happen 1 time on my CX100.  Luckily it had a tube in it and we were able to ride it home 100 miles.   Had it been tubeless we would have gone down for sure. You could see the tube between the rim & the tire.

I don't recall the exact head count, but I **think** it was 70 something. The Motus was Beardog here on the board. Yes, that is a nice looking bike. Sitting at idle, it easily makes twice as much mechanical noises as a Guzzi.
