Title: RAZOR trailer
Post by: Ronkom on September 13, 2017, 10:44:40 AM
Guzzisti,
I'm looking hard at getting a RAZOR ground-loading trailer built for transporting my Eldo or the MP-3. They are custom built to order & appear to be the hot set-up for easy (safe) loading by one person. The web site, pictures, testimonials etc. look good & appear to be on the "up & up".
My concern is that Gary Farmer (the builder) wants payment in full before he'll start on my trailer. Sending over  a grand to a person I don't know several states away makes me REAL nervous.
So, any of y'all familiar w/RAZOR trailers? Have any dealings w/Gary Farmer?
Thanks,
Ronkom

Can you pay by credit card as they often have some sort of protection against lack of supply

Alternatively use an escrow account but if he is using your money to build your trailer that might not be acceptable.

...So no one has bought/is familiar with these trailers? Anyone live near Blue Ridge Ga. who could ride by & check this guy's shop out? Correction from my post, It'll be two grand by the time I get the thing built the way I'd want. I just had to cancel/get reissued a credit card due to getting scammed (only $179.00) so I'm even more sensitive/suspicious/paranoid than usual these days.

You're right, his web presence DOES seem legit ... and the product looks like a great idea.   I was really surprised that anything near "a grand" would be the price, and even "two grand" is reasonable compared to what lots of other purpose-built motorcycle trailers cost.

Not surprised no one has responded, since I've been interested in trailers and looking around and had never come across him or heard about him.   Hopefully someone in the North Georgia area can take a quick road-trip and get boots on the ground and a handshake ....

Hey Folks,
I'm the inventor, welder, grinder, etc of Razor Trailers.
I just run across this thread,no one bother to call and it's important to respond.
ME:Riding since 1969-200 off road races which includes a Ga state Hare scrambles Championship
200 Road Races which includes a 3rd place National WERA 6 hr Endurance (say hello to Ed Bargy)
I have perhaps 100,000 miles trailering experience.
Been welding since 1978 from Tech school strait to Avondale Offshore,Morgan City LA
To this day I work winters in Florida Shipyards which includes Mayport Naval Base last winter.
I'm a verteran and come from a double Gold Star family thanks to Vietnam.
>This is whom your buying from,a bike lover for real and not a glorified salesman-I handbuild EACH myself.

Trailer:I design my trailer with the thoughts of overcoming all the shortfalls and mishaps I've had since first seeing my bike in the rearview mirror fly through the air as my 16 year neighbor and I jump over some backroads railroad tracks towing  to a MX in Alabama!
I overbuild my trailers(a trait I learn welding and fabricating in 15 years or so shipyards)-one customer reported driving 120 mph EMPTY changing lanes with NO sway-he certifies airline pilots in south FL.*180 mph landings is a common thing for him!

I have trailers from Canada-Florida-Maine to CA.
Owners include individuals-State Municipalities-DOD Companies
Whether your a man, woman, healthy or not- I'm here to help you.

Keep the rubber side down,
Gary Farmer

I am within a couple hours of Blue Ridge, GA. I have a tree down in my front yard from the storm that will take up part of one of my weekend days but Blue Ridge is a nice ride and the weather is supposed to be good both days this weekend. Ronkom, if you want to PM me with details, I will try to get up there this weekend.  Maybe I can talk GuzziSteve into riding up there with me...

That looks like a pretty amazing piece of equipment and a pretty reasonable price.

if I wanted one, I'd call the guy and order it, so long as cost and delivery were acceptable to my spec.

I know Gary personally,I see him often at Two Wheels of Suches. He's an honest guy and an amazing welder. If I was in the market for a trailer I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him.
