I bought this 81 CB750C for short money yesterday for a cafe racer project... It runs quite nicely despite oil and fuel leaks ...I had been looking for a few months and this was the first older Japanese 750 inline four I came across that had a clear title..The seller, a young man, lived in a camp site in northern NY state. I arrived and he wasn't home from work just then but I could hear off in the distance a inline four wailing down the twisty roads up shifting and downshifting....Har leys aren't the only bikes with nasty loud exhausts.. He roared up to me ,stopped, flipped up his helmet visor and said "it's a good runner"

Gonna keep the whitewall?
 The rear tire says Harley Davidson on the sidewall, the front tire is a Harley spec tire, the seat back is Harley and an older Sportster muffler is crudely welded to the rusty 4-1 exhaust header....All of it goes along with the engine guard, side covers, stock air box ,fenders, big battery and probably the fuel tank....
I have never owned a Japanese inline four....If nothing else, it's a porker...

Well I thought it was funny. I first heard it fourty + years ago when a friend bought a 62 Biscayne which had a 348 big block with bad mains. It had a hood scoop that someone had written " pecker tongs " on the inside with magic marker so that's what we called it. We replaced the bearings before he ran over the crankshaft . It was fast, especially for a couple of foolish kids. Back to the Honda, it's a good basis because parts are plentiful at swap meets like the big one in Davenport . We want pictures as you progress, please!
