Title: Fire burns up all the fairing molds
Post by: Curtis Harper on September 22, 2017, 10:51:49 AM
I guess this is more of a FYI than anything else. A couple months ago the company that makes all of the fiberglass products for Harper's Moto Guzzi had a fire. All of the molds that we had for our seats, and the H&H fairings were destroyed. After many discussions we have decided NOT to redo the mold for the fairing. We still have a few in stock, so if you have wanted an H&H or Swanee Aerofoil style fairing, now would be the time to make that decision as they will no longer be produced.  We will redo the molds all of our seat products.

Shucks, was there no insurance to cover the molds?

There might have been, but, you know, sometimes things just run their course ....

Seems that the company didn't have any and our deductible is so high, we won't even get there if we did all of them. So all out of pocket.

Glad I got mine when I did. Hands down the best fairing / windshield for the California's.

Sorry to hear of this.  I hope both your business and your supplier's business weather this setback ok.  Not easy running a small business these days.

Oh my, very sorry to hear of this Curtis.  The fury of a fire has no equal.

A financially responsible decision I'm sure not to redo the molds.

End of an era right here gents.

Best,
Rob
