Moto Guzzi 8C "Continuation"
model year 1955
Rare opportunity to acquire one of only 7 "continuation" built in 2001 by Todaro/Frigerio from original Moto Guzzi Factory drawings.
This is the last built, fitted with ORIGINAL crankshaft, pistons and timing gear.
Fully working.

I can't imagine what the reserve is for this bike. $30K?
-
I would say at least that. The time and labor it would take to build has to be obscene, even if it's anywhere close to 100% accurate and built according to the original plans.
-
Does it come with the 4 techs it requires to keep running
Betting 30 K is low , but then it is worth what someone ....

Keep dreaming one was auctioned in the uk 100 000+ wasn't enough to reach reserve.

Yeah, but there's a thing on the Ebay page you can click on that says " Get low monthly payments "

No fairing? DonG

Ebay auction started at one dollar, after three days and 83 bids it's up to $40K. Reserve not met understandably. Wonder where it'll end?

I'd rather have this than virtually any other motorcycle ever made. $500K? Just my guess. The amount of effort involved in building seven V8s must have been unbelievable. The story I remember was that Todero's son was directly involved (?) but assuming Todero senior was still around at the time that he would supplied a huge amount of now unavailable) information.

Dim dark distant memory the bike was 350 odd k AUD back in the day admittedly the AUD was through he floor so around 175k USD at the time I'd be surprised if the reserve was below 200K USD, might be a testing the waters exercise.

As I recall there was a Euro guy building replicas of these you could get made for $180K US a number of years ago, putting out 60? hp.
Can you imagine what it's like keeping 8 carbs in synch. so it runs right?

There was a youtube vid earlier this year of one being ridden around the Isle of Man. Anyone know how to find it? I've been looking and it's not coming up.
-
I googled "guzzi v8 isle of man" and got over 2m hits. Some were u-tube videos.

It'd have to be a mighty stiff throttle spring! I saw an original at the museum in Nashville October 2016. Fabulous.
-
I just checked where it is this bike in Italy. It's only 260km (160 miles) from me! Now that is temptation...

There was a thread on this quite recently already, the sum required to purchase that will be Stratospheric
Besides you'd need a machine shop a set and a hot shot mechanic to keep it running
As a large curiosity/art work piece in the front room it would be nice

Second try: Bidding has ended at 100,000 USD, 66 bids. Again, not sold (reserve not met).

I think it will need at least 250K euro
In 2004 I was in france at the trofeo rosso where they showed one, it was made by sebastiano Marcelino. I'm not shure how all the names relate.

At the end of the day we made a lineup of special Guzzi's, I was asked to put my Daytona in line:
