I came to put the air box back in and couldn't get the drain to go anywhere properly - Why put the top connection on the right and the bottom location on the left. :violent1: :violent1:
After some swearing and cursing I realised the best thing was to walk away before I busted something
Is there an easy way to do this or do I need to cuss it some more tonight?

Have you lost some bark (skin) yet, I find nothing goes right until you have bled over it.
Sent from my shoe phone!

Tris:
It's just a bitch to put back in. That's all there is to it.
I used really long forceps ( harbor freight ), to hold the drain tube, cussed, bled, walked away, start over......
Yeah, it's just a bitch.

Welcome to my world. When I take the airbox out I put a long wire tie on the hose at the top by the clamp, then it doesn't drop down and need to be routed. It is a pain to put back on, I use a long needle nose.

Thank you chaps - I needed some calming words
If there is a blue haze over Lincolnshire tonight though, you'll know I'm still bleeding for the cause :thumb:

Mine went in like butter.
But then I realized that I snapped off the nipple for the drain.
I ended up plugging the drain hole with an 1/8" pipe plug then redirected the breather hose to a short Red Bull can that I keep under the seat. Now no oil even pools in the air box.

That's an idea, should stop fouling up the throttle butterflys to boot

On the Norge I put the box half way on, connect the hose, then lower the box in position and GENTLY pull the hose back down near the suspension knuckle.

There was no blue hue to the Lincolnshire skies last night and no blood was let - I made a "tool" :thumb:
(http://thumb.ibb.co/iKvwY6/WP_20171017_20_21_05_Pro.jpg) (http://ibb.co/iKvwY6)
Its a 3 foot length of coax cable with a hard angle cut on one end
Stiff enough to push up from the bottom and the right diameter to be a tight fit inside the drain tube
I could then pull the %$!"$ drain tube down as I wiggled the box into position.
Now if I can remember to attach the "tool" before I pull the air box next time we'll be sorted
-
So the question on everyone's lips Tris.
Was the tool ummmm... Stiff enough ? :embarrassed:
-
It was exactly the correct stiffosity
But that is as far as I will go as i wouldn't want to incur Dustys' wrath ...... again

I've never felt closer to you than I do at the moment.
We have so much in common...
