So today I changed the CARC final drive oil and the 6-speed gearbox oil. Used a bottle-mount fluid pump I have on hand for doing the rear differential on my old Subaru Forester which works great. CARC was a breeze and no mess. Interested mainly if anyone has a certain kind of small mouth funnel you can fit up to the gearbox drain with a hose or duct attached to direct the waste oil into the drain pan. Was able to use a small funnel I had on hand but didn't work that great, Lord what a mess. Garage floor is sealed with epoxy coating so there's no soak-in to deal with just wipe-up and hit it w/ a degreaser basically expend an jumbo roll of shop towels then good as new. Cleaning the waste oil off the bike bits was, however, tedious.
Share your sparkling clean method of gearbox oil changes if you have one
P.S. After completely done and cleaned up, everything put away up rolls US Postal Svc delivering the ($6.94) 76mm 8-flute cap wrench for the engine oil filter removal. I'll get to that tomorrow !!

I realize it's not a Stelvio, but this is what I came up with for my Sport. Small fuel additive bottle modified to fit under the gearbox drain and right into the drainpan.

Something similar may work for you.

Listen, if you do it w/stand up there's no mess. I used to use a bottle cut out just like above. Now I use a trans flat jack under motor, cost $90 and no mess.

Check this out. There are other brands.

I just use a carefully shaped channel of aluminum foil - it handles the job pretty well with little effort or cost.

That's what always works for me. Learned that one from the Harley.

Slightly off my own topic but part of the desire for less mess is not just clean-up but that foul scent gear oil carries (from the sulfur based extreme pressure additives). Once I get that odor in my nose I smell it all day it seems.

Hey.....2 used cigarette butts would solve that problem. Sorry couldn't resist. :1: on the smell.

A suitably mutilated piece of cardboard has always worked well for me. YMMV

I have a 'form a funnel' which is a lead sheet covered with some kind of rubber. $10 on Amazon.
That being said, I don't use it.
How I change the Stelvio oils-
Run the bike for 10+ miles
Put on bike lift, drain CARC
Pull gearbox plug, let it drain all over centerstand into pan
Pull crankcase plug, drain into pan, pull filter.
Cleanup, find all the crap I dropped in oil drain pan, re-fill.
It takes just as long to clean up as it does to prevent the mess in the first place.

Read your excellent Stelvio Maintenance Blog during the pre-buy research process. Thank you for publishing that. After using a bottle-mount fluid pump, next time I will be using an old school oil can pump as in your blog. Way less mess. The fluid pump I just had on hand as old stock from doing the rear differential of my Subaru. Got my eye on the Plews-Edelmann p/n 50-595 8oz oil can w/ flex hose.

A foil roasting pan works well.
